Situated in the Urbanization Buena Vista, cut into the foothills of the Sierra Nevada mountain range, this exclusive well appointed villa offers accommodation in a tranquil setting, yet only a few minutes drive from the fantastic beaches and nightlife of Fuengirola and Marbella. It overlooks the Mediterranean (it is 400m above sea level) and the beautiful nearby town of Mijas, which is renowned as being one of the most beautiful white villages of Spain.

It is well suited to all holiday makers: children, pets, elderly or inform (wheelchair friendly). Local activities include swimming, golf (several courses are very near), tennis, walking, sailing, cycling, fishing, horse riding, wind-surfing, water skiing, mountain biking, aquaparks, amusement parks, and other attractions. Andalucia has many places to visit for sightseeing and shopping: Malaga, Torremolinos, Marbella, Fuengirola, Gibraltar, Seville, Cordoba and Granada.

There are three bedrooms which can sleep up to eight people (extra cost of €50 each for 7th and 8th person, 2 full size folding beds available), two bathrooms (one en-suite), an American kitchen with utility room and a large lounge which offers panoramic views of the breathtaking scenery overlooking the Mediterranean Sea towards Gibraltar. On a clear day, you can see the mountains of Africa! It has telephone, air conditioning, internet access, satellite TV, DVD, and a CD and radio/cassette player. Externally there is a patio Andaluz opening onto a broad terrace with a large floodlit pool (8x4m) set in private gardens featuring a BBQ, outside dining area, large roof terrace (all with fabulous views) and car port.

The property benefits from the exclusivity given by the security gates at the entrance to the development complex and is flanked by other villas. Mijas is 5 mins by car, Fuengirola and the beach are 10 mins by car and Marbella 20 mins. The nearest international airport is Malaga (10 miles). We also have two cars to rent at very good rates, an VW Touran 5-7 seater and a Smart Forfour 5 seater automatic, both with aircon. We have a local manager who is available to provide any information required. Linen is changed every week. The pool and garden are very well maintained. The nearest shop is a mini supermarket at the petrol station just down the road (open until midnight) and there is a supermarket just along the road to Benalmadena called Carrefour with larger supermarkets in nearby Fuengirola.

Extra Costs (deducted from your Deposit Refund)

Electricity: We give an allowance of 100kW per week for normal electricity usage and anything above this is charged at 0.30 EUR per kW. Please make sure you read the electricity meter with our Manager on start and finish of your holiday. Telephone: If you wish to use the telephone, please let us know as we can check the calls made after your departure.

Cancellation Charges:

If you have to cancel your holiday before having paid the full amount (8 weeks beforehand), we will refund your deposit less an administration charge of £25 (€40) IF we are able to re-book the same week/s. If you have paid in full, the cancellation charges are as follows:

4 - 8 weeks: 50% of rate refunded

2 - 4 weeks: 25% of rate refunded

less than 2 weeks: no refund

UNLESS we are able to re-book any time up to the holiday, in which case we will refund your full payment plus deposit less the administration charge as above.

The Andalucia region

In the summer, the weather is very hot, but in Mijas you benefit from the sea breeze that just takes the sting out of the mid-day sun. In May/June and September/October as it is a bit cooler but still very warm. The winter period (November to March) is the best time for playing golf and exploring Andalucia by car. The temperatures are very pleasant and the skies are blue. You would be very unlucky to get a week of rain but the odd day or few hours has to be accepted as it is winter after all. One can even swim in the sea in winter as it still is reasonably warm from the summer months. The evenings do tend to be cool so you would be advised to bring a sweater or a jacket when you go out.

Mijas Costa

Mijas’ traditional status as a mountain village has been combined harmoniously with a major tourist complex located in the coastal enclave of La Cala, where there are 12 kilometres of beaches. The whitewashed streets of historic quarter, Arab in layout and nestling in the mountain landscape, houses some buildings of interest, among them some churches and hermitages. The surrounding area, meanwhile, preserves some archaeological sites, testimony to the towns rich prehistoric past. Not forgetting other attractions Mijas offers, such as its gastronomy, inherited from Andalusias rich culinary tradition and its deep-rooted custom of fairs and festivals.

Mijas town, Las Lagunas, La Cala... three sides to a locality which has made the most of the many charms it possesses to provide one of the most attractive tourist destinations on the Costa del Sol.

The excellent climate throughout the year, as well as the quality of the sea water, make Mijas an ideal destination for those who are looking for a place which allows them to enjoy the coastline without missing out on the attractions hidden in the mountains of Málaga. Mijas provides easy access to all major points on the Costa del Sol. Featuring among them are Málaga capital, which combines significant heritage, headed by the Citadel and the Castle of Gibralfaro, with an extensive choice of leisure options. Torremolinos, Benalmádena and Fuengirola are other towns with a deep-rooted tourist tradition. Inland, we will find villages with a mountain flavour such as Alhaurín el Grande, with its church of Nuestra Señora de la Encarnación and the palace of Montellano. In the Sierra de las Nieves Nature Reserve, in the heart of the mountains of Ronda, we can also see the most singular fir tree in the world, the Spanish fir.

"Relax and enjoy."

For us this holiday had everything that makes a holiday "stress free". All bookings confirmed and acknowledge. Pick-up arranged from the airport. Spotless clean Villa in a quiet and safe environment. Rental of a car. The gardens and swimming pool were maintaIned weekly. There were lovely views from the garden and plenty of chairs and loungers so you could make the most of the outside space to relax or eat. A fixed Spanish Bar-be-que outside was another extra. The Villa was within 10 minutes either of the centre of Fuengirola or the motorway heading towards Malaga or Marbella. This meant you were close to many good Restaurants and Cafes and of course the famous Markets that take place. If you like a typical Spanish Villa then this is for you.

"Just the place to unwind properly"

We stayed for the fist week of October and the autumn sun allowed us to take advantage of the well kept pool. We spent most of our time outdoors and made good use of the barbeque. The location being so close to Malaga airport but yet in a quiet and very private zone was just perfect for our purposes. Highly recommended.
