Padre Aviles is 12km East of Malaga and away from the crowds, yet within easy reach of Malaga city centre There are many places to visit such as Frigiliana, Neja, Antequera, Ronda, Seville, Granada. Andalucia is full of histoy.
The Malaga area
Malaga city centre is an attractive city full of history. The cathedral, castle and Picasso Museum are well worth a
visit. There are many festival during the year, the main one being Semana Santa (Holy week) which takes place at Easter time. They have numerous proccesions that go on late into the night and the atmosphere is wonderful. There are lots of villages dotted around which are worth a visit. Padre Aviles is the most gorgeous setting, with well fitted out apartments and truly comfortable beds - a rarity in Spain. The hosts and their wonderful children made our family feel so welcome and all the kids played together ensuring that tired parents had a holiday too. It's hard to drag oneself away from Padre Aviles because it is so restful there, but Malaga is a wonderful city and the owners gave us lots of tips for visits and local restaurants. We also enjoyed the beaches which are a 10 minute drive away and the amazing lakes at El Chorro. We have booked again for this summer as it was such a success with all members of the family. is a wonderful city |

We stayed in summer 2010 and went back for more in 2011, Claire & David and the whole family were especially welcoming. Our boys learnt to swim in the pool, and our eldest learnt how to ride a bike whilst there as well. Barbeque every night, down the hill every couple of days for supplies, apart from that you don't have to go anywhere! |
