The Ionian Islands region

Seven miles long by three miles wide, Paxos nestles like a green jewel in the Ionian Sea. The island landscape is covered by some 200,000 olive trees, bought to Paxos (as they were to Corfu) by the Venetians.

In Greek mythology, Poseidon created the island by striking Corfu with his trident, so that he and wife Amphitrite could have some peace and quiet, that is what a holiday on Paxos offers today, no loud discos, no clubs, just a peaceful sunny place where you can relax and enjoy your holiday.

Loggos

Paxos has a way of life which is reminiscent of that described by Gerald Durrell in his books about Corfu in the 1930s. small goat and donkey tracks crisscross the island and In the olive season it is still possible to meet a little Greek lady carrying a sack of olives, which she has gathered by hand.

Villa Thea is situated amongst the olive groves in the quiet hamlet of Kangatika, one kilometre from the enchanting, graceful, old fishing port of Loggos with pastel-shaded old houses huddled around the harbour. It combines relative seclusion with the bustle of small village life nearby, providing an idyllic place for holidays throughout the season.

During the day, you could stroll through the olives covered in spring and early summer with wild flowers, or along the narrow lanes lined with dry stone walls past old houses and brightly planted gardens or hire one of the brightly coloured boats in Loggos harbour which offer a chance to explore the bays and beaches of the coast, to swim in the clean crystalline waters.

In the evening, the last of the sun casting lengthening shadows under the olives. Go down the hill to Loggos to gather with the locals in the tavernas or in the Roxie Bar overlooking the little harbour to enjoy a meal or a drink. Then either stroll back under a canopy of a myriad stars, the moon making a silver path over the sea or order a taxi back "home" to sit on the terrace, drink in hand, enjoying the quiet of the night.

"Paxiot PURfection !!"

Beautiful blissful location and a wonderful and classically Paxiot styled home from home ! Our stay of just 10 days was nowhere near enough time to take in all that this magical place has to offer - from the lovely walks to the easy access to Loggos village - its beautiful views over the Eprius coastal mountains to splendid terrace with its warm smooth tiles and acres of space and shade - the quirky garden area with its BBQ and the lovely roof terrace with even better views - the House is spacious and modern with good size bathrooms on both ground and upper floor and very comfy beds and efficient air con. All things that you need for a perfect relaxing break are to hand with a helping of essentials in the kitchen ready for your enjoyment. Big plus was Probably one of the cleanest and well maintained swimming pools I have ever experienced - not a mark and water that was crystal clear deep and warm. a nice size too. excellent dinning all fresco and very peaceful location with just the odd reminder that you are in a tiny village settlement. Amazing sunrise every morning if you are up and about at 5.50 am ( June ) and Erica the owner is so helpful and friendly - just relax and enjoy and of course the resident purry population will keep you amused yes the cats share the grounds but are never intrusive. One final point - regarding cleaning - the house was spotless - and beautifully maintained - so where on earth the single only other negative review came from is a just a nonsense. I for one cant wait to go back there very soon. Heaven !!!!

Thank you for such a complimentary review. We are happy that you had such a lovely holiday and look forward to seeing you in 2016.

"A change from the norm"

We normally do adventure holidays in far flung places and organise everything ourselves. A villa in sleepy Paxos with a lot of the arrangements being made for us would not normally be our choice, however, we need not have worried. From our initial enquiry the owner Erica was extremely helpful, arranging ferries, taxis etc for ourselves and 2 family members who came out to join after 5 days. Any queries were answered promptly by phone or email and it seemed that nothing was too much trouble for her. We received a PDF info pack with all the details we needed about transfers, the villa and the island. A copy is in the villa but it was nice to have beforehand. From the airport it was a 10 euro taxi to the ferry. As requested we asked for Alex who provided us with our tickets and told us that his wife Fotini would meet us at Paxos to give us the keys and show us to our taxi. There is a nice cafe in the port and also a duty free shop for which you will need your ferry ticket. Don't worry because we found the prices in Paxos very reasonable. One hour 45 mins later we docked at Paxos and there was Fotini with the keys and the taxi, quite important that it was booked as there are only 5 taxis on the island. A short 10 minute ride to the villa. The villa itself is an absolute delight and we could not have chosen a better location. Nestled in the hills with a stunning sea view and so incredibly peaceful. The villa is not overlooked by anyone and the only noise we heard was from the occasional passing car. It felt like a home not a holiday let. Well furnished throughout with all mod cons sound of which like the fridge and the washing machine seemed brand new. The welcome pack was well received and we managed to conjur up a nice pasta on our first evening (the bottle of wine went down well!) Everything was clean and tidy and the cleaner came in every 2 days. The infinity pool is wonderful and we made the most of the outside space including the barbecue area which is just below the terrace reached by a small path. It's a short walk down the hill to Loggos but it was nice that the villa was so comfortable we were equally happy to stay and eat there. At night we sat on the upstairs balcony and watched the stars, which were not obscured by the ambient light. You will even find tea lights and holders if you don't want to use the electric lights. The cats were adorable, looked after by Frances who feeds them every day, they are also given worm and flea treatment so are in very good condition. Don't worry if you don't like cats they are very wary of humans and will probably not interact with you unless you choose to feed them. We had one minor electrical problem but a quick call to Fotini and it was resolved in 30 minutes (sadly not before we had left a voicemail to the owner at 6am, but she still got back to us 15 mins later, eager to ensure all was well) We won't bore you with our thoughts on Paxos other than it is like Greece used to be many years ago. Would be return to Paxos? Yes Would be stay at Villa Thea? Yes Would we stay for 10 days again? No, we would probably want longer.

We are so glad that you had such a good holiday. We have designed our villa to be a home from home so that (hopefully) our guests will have a lovely relaxing holiday. It is lovely to hear from guests who have had a good holiday.

"A perfect villa for a relaxing vacation on the beautiful island of Paxos."

Villa Thea was exactly as described. A very well presented house with the most spectacular views across the Ionian Sea to the Greek mainland. The villa owner was extremely helpful with the booking and travel/transfer arrangements. The villa is situated high above the village of Loggos, which is about a 15 minute walk. It is a fairly steep climb on the return journey, which therefore takes a little longer. We hired a car which we found very useful for going to/from Loggos and for exploring the island generally. The villa, the swimming pool and the terraces are all well maintained and provide the perfect setting for a relaxing holiday.

Thank you for your review it is good to hear that you had a great holiday. We hope to welcome you back to Villa Thea and to Paxos

"Lovely villa in a stunning location!"

Villa Thea is situated in a stunning location with wonderful sea view and all home comforts provided. Erica has thought of everything, with a well equipped kitchen area, comfortable bedrooms and lovely outdoor area in which to relax. There were sun umbrellas providing plenty of shade, good sun loungers round the beautiful swimming pool, and upstairs terrace area with seating and lovely views to the sea, and even a separate bar-b-que area below with more tables and chairs! We enjoyed our walks through the olive groves from the villa down to Loggos although we did rely on a taxi for the return journey as it is a steep climb! The mini market at the bottom of the slope provided a wonderful free delivery service to the villa and was well stocked with most essentials. The tavernas in Loggos are all good although we thought that Vassilis was the best. We hired a boat from Captain Nikos and really enjoyed pottering along the coast, dropping anchor in the bays when we felt like a swim. The pool and villa are very well maintained and we had lots of clean towels and bedding provided during our stay. Erica could not have done more to help even arranging for all the bookings of taxis and ferry for our extended family who came and went during our 19 day stay! We really enjoyed our holiday in Villa Thea and would highly recommend it!

Thank you for your lovely review. We are glad that you enjoyed both the villa and Paxos and hope you come again.

"We so adored Paxos, Loggos and villa thea offered us all we needed for a relaxed holiday"

Villa Thea is a spacious villa which sits at the top of a fairly steep hill - although there is a gentle road which just takes a little longer to get to the local village. We spent most of the time by the pool and enjoying the patio area - which has a fantastic shaded umbrella system - also a lovely view. The villa is used by the family who own it and as such has quite a homely feel. There were a few cats around - didn't bother us at all. We enjoyed the peace, the freedom, the unspoiled nature of the place.

We are glad that our guests had such a good time in Paxos and at our villa. We do try very hard to smooth the travel to and from Paxos for our guests and to provide a happy atmosphere for their holiday.

"Simply Wonderful, Greece at its best."

Paxos is an unspoilt corner of Greece and Loggos together with the Villa Thea, really did live up to our expectations. The Villa was wonderfully presented, had everything you could want, and we made good use of the pool & terrace overlooking the sea from first thing in the morning till early evening. Loggos is pretty little Greek fishing village with wonderful beaches close by and a selection of good quality taverna's offering simple high quality greek food, we were spoilt for choice. The owners were always available via text answering any queries and very helpful ordering transfers to and from Corfu. It was a real treat staying at Villa Thea and we would definitely recommend it and will be visiting again.

Thank you for your review we are so glad that you enjoyed your holiday and would like to come to Paxos again

"Villa Thea, beautiful villa, fabulous setting with amazing views, we'll definitely return..."

Our holiday in Paxos staying at Villa Thea was wonderful. Our group consisted of 4 adults and two children aged 10 and 12. The villa offers really comfortable spacious accommodation and is also well equipped. We had a wonderful week lounging around the pool, hiring boats and heading off to the lovely island of Anti Paxos (20 mins by boat). There are plenty of restaurants to choose from and we walked down the hill from Kangatika to Loggos most evenings, although we always got a taxi back afterwards (bit steep after all that delicious Greek food!) Getting to Paxos was very easy Erica's instructions for getting from Corfu airport to Paxos were absolutely spot on and once on the island Erica's lovely and helpful English speaking contacts for Villa Thea were always on hand to help with any questions and transfers to and from the Villa to the port.. All in all a perfect holiday we shall definitely return to Villa Thea!

Thank you for your lovely review. We are glad you enjoyed your holiday with us. We aim to offer a comfortable villa and an enjoyable stay for all our guests and look forward to seeing you again in Paxos.

"total relaxation in the most beautiful setting"

The villa is set in the olive groves above the town. The setting is amazing and even though it is a steep climb to the villa it is worth every step when you see the views and enjoy the peace an tranquillity. Everything you could possibly want is in the villa and it is really well maintained by Alex and his wife. The people of Paxos are delightful and for those of us that travelled to Greece for the first time some 30+ years ago it is like stepping back in time to what Greece used to be like. If you haven't been to Paxos before I strongly recommend you visit soon.

Thank you for your review. We are glad that you enjoyed your holiday and the villa. We hope you will come back to enjoy the beauty of Paxos again.
