Copper Beech Farm was everything that we could have hoped for and more. The Barn was well-furnished, very attractive and had everything we could possibly need. With its location close to Cork, Kinsale and beyond, our vacation was full of adventure. The Sheehan family were charming hosts, answering all of our questions and providing good advice for our young family. In particular, our two young boys had a wonderful time helping to milk the cows, feed the calves and bounce on the trampoline. We particularly enjoyed the wood stove in the evenings and the beautiful countryside that surrounds it. We would strongly recommend Copper Beech Farm. |

This was our third stay here, and we found it again very comfortable, despite the pretty chilly Irish weather. There are 2 bedrooms downstairs and the living/dining space is upstairs. The table is big enough to easily seat more than four (nice for us as we like to have friends over once during the stay), and the kitchen comes with all the usual appliances (toaster, microwave, electric kettle etc.), so cooking is a breeze. The scones with jam and butter on arrival are a sweet touch, as well as the fresh flowers from the garden. We also found firewood and built a fire on those nights when we stayed in. The views from most rooms are pretty, over fields and rolling hills. There is also a little balcony off the living space with a small table, so in theory you could sit out, but it has almost never been mild enough for us to do that. On the farm itself is a playground for kids with a trampoline and some toys, which our two girls loved. The also loved helping to feed the calves and watching the milking, and farmer Michael was always friendly and patient with them. We loved being able to have access to the fresh milk straight from the tank. There are also two friendly dogs, and in previous years we were able to gather eggs from the hens, but they weren't ready for laying yet this time. Location wise, the farm is conveniently located for the sights of West Cork (Kinsale is about 10-15 minutes drive, Cork City a bit further), and also to Cork city, but you will need a car if you stay here to get around. It is very quiet at night, so our kids always sleep later than at home, which we of course appreciate! We are very comfortable staying here, and our kids love it! Response: Thanks for your kind response. It was nice to meet you again and we are happy that you enjoyed your stay. We look forward to meeting you again. Michael & Eileen |
