“As always, a great experience at Copper Beech Farm” This was our third stay here, and we found it again very comfortable, despite the pretty chilly Irish weather. There are 2 bedrooms downstairs and the living/dining space is upstairs. The table is big enough to easily seat more than four (nice for us as we like to have friends over once during the stay), and the kitchen comes with all the usual appliances (toaster, microwave, electric kettle etc.), so cooking is a breeze. The scones with jam and butter on arrival are a sweet touch, as well as the fresh flowers from the garden. We also found firewood and built a fire on those nights when we stayed in. The views from most rooms are pretty, over fields and rolling hills. There is also a little balcony off the living space with a small table, so in theory you could sit out, but it has almost never been mild enough for us to do that. On the farm itself is a playground for kids with a trampoline and some toys, which our two girls loved. The also loved helping to feed the calves and watching the milking, and farmer Michael was always friendly and patient with them. We loved being able to have access to the fresh milk straight from the tank. There are also two friendly dogs, and in previous years we were able to gather eggs from the hens, but they weren't ready for laying yet this time. Location wise, the farm is conveniently located for the sights of West Cork (Kinsale is about 10-15 minutes drive, Cork City a bit further), and also to Cork city, but you will need a car if you stay here to get around. It is very quiet at night, so our kids always sleep later than at home, which we of course appreciate! We are very comfortable staying here, and our kids love it!
“Could not be better, everthing was great.” We had a wonderful stay, accommodation excellent, everything you could want and milk and tea bags supplied, (great to be able to make a cuppa on arrival after a long journey). Dan met us and was most welcoming and explained how everything worked on arrival. Great location with lovely views. We would love to go back again and spend longer next time. Thanks a million to Dan and Bev for excellent, friendly, welcoming service and a great little cottage.
“Perfect farmhouse cottage in ideal location 5 minute drive from Kinsale and closest beach. Will definitely visit again” The location is perfect with beautiful scenery and close to Kinsale (5 min Drive).Lots of lovely walks and only 5 minute drive to nearest beach.
The cottage is lovely and provided us with a great weeks holiday.it wasn't long before we were very chilled! Lovely and different to be on a working farm.
Ann and Donal, couldn't do enough for us and made us feel very welcome, so thank you Ann and Donal.
A nice touch was the welcome pack, everything you need when you arrive.
We will be back...if they are not fully booked
“Lobster Cottage was great and the location is awesome!” We rented Lobster Cottage for a week and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The cottage was clean and comfortable and accomodated our pary of 6 perfectly. We loved being able to walk to town, but the location was also a great base for taking day trips throughout the countryside to see the sights. Mary was terrific and made the rental process and everything about our stay easy. She was also very helpful and kind enough to answer our many questions. Mary was a delight and Lobster Cottage was wonderful. I would certainly recommend it to anyone visiting the area.
