Stylish barn conversion and bespoke Shepherds Hut
Barn | 2 bedrooms | sleeps 5
Proud to have been awarded a Certificate of Excellence 2014
Souters consists of a converted barn and luxurious shepherds hut (named Gribbles) on a track leading to the owner's small farm. It provides an exceptional, secluded and very comfortable place to stay. Souters has one double bedroom and a sofa bed. The private garden is surrounded by woods teeming with wildlife and provides a peaceful place to relax.
Gribbles is tucked away in a corner of the garden and provides the second bedroom. It has a full size double bed and single truckle bed, en suite shower and toilet with under floor heating and heated towel rail. The sleeping area is also heated, combined with a high level of insulation Gribbles is usable all year round. All finished to a high standard and connected to the main services.
We are in the heart of Dedham Vale AONB and Stour Valley. There are very good restaurants and bistro pubs in the locality and an award winning farm shop in the next village. Souters is a good base from which to explore the countryside and other East Anglian delights, being just 5 minutes drive from the A12 midway between Ipswich and Colchester. The historic market town of Hadleigh is 5 miles away with buildings of interest and an individual high street with varied shopping opportunities.
Ideal for a quiet break to enjoy the surrounding Constable countryside by foot or bicycle. Dedham is an attraction for artists and is just 2 miles away with art gallery and shop, Munnings museum and tea houses.

The East Anglia region
Souters is within the beautiful Dedham Vale and Stour Valley - real Constable Country. There are many events in all seasons organised by the Dedham Vale AONB and Stour Valley Project including guided evening summer walks and varied talks about the local history, fauna and flora.
East Anglia is one of the driest regions of the country. Beth Chatto gardens, cafe and shop are an easy drive away and provide inspiring ideas on how to cope with drought-like conditions in the garden.
Higham Point to Point course is a short stroll from the property for winter weekend entertainment; the Marks Tey course is about 10 miles away.
Most country pursuits are available in the area.
There are many beautiful historic towns to visit including Hadleigh, Lavenham, Sudbury, Colchester and Ipswich.
Ipswich is a lively town for the arts with three theatres, lots of museums, shopping for those interested and a variety of good places to eat. Colchester also has a thriving Arts scene including theatres and galleries. Both towns have food and arts based festivals throughout the year.
There are many good farm shops in the area selling local produce and a growing number of micro breweries and vineyards.
The Suffolk coast, including Snape Maltings, Aldeburgh and Southwold are within easy reach for a day out.
