About the home

This apartment is beautifully furnished and well equipped providing all the home comforts you would expect at such a quality resort, it is very much our second home. The terrace is fully enclosed and offers dining for 6. The beds are comfortable, with good quality linen and the kitchen is well equipped to make your stay as relaxing as possible, the lounge provides a relaxing environment where you can watch TV.and the Italian made sofa bed provides extra sleeping accommodation for 2 adults plus a full size travel cot for the little one. We've provided a set of golf clubs too!!!

The tennis courts, an outdoor gym, a paddleball court and petanque pitch are just a short walk from the apartment - These are due to be completed at the beginning of 2010

Hacienda Riquelme is the fourth Polaris resort to be completed and forms part of the much acclaimed Nicklaus Golf trail. Guests at the apartment enjoy discounted green fees, and the Hacienda resort offers a very open environment where you can enjoy great golf, food and climate. Most visitors agree that the Hacienda course is the best of all the Polaris resorts so far. The resort is also very well set up with numerous sand based play areas and equipment to amuse the children on walks around the course or resort.

For non golfers, there are a wide range of activities available. The calm warm waters of the Mar Menor and its beautiful beaches are the perfect place to find safe swimming, water sports and diving. As the Mar Menor is a secluded bay the warm water is particularly suitable for young children, some of the beaches further North on the mediterranean coast have more waves but are still a safe height for the little ones.The ancient city of Murcia to the North and Cartagena to the South and the surrounding areas are a must for those wishing to explore historical buildings and architecture of this region.

The Sierra Espuña contains Murcia’s largest extensions of forest, as well as being one of its most exemplary areas of outstanding natural beauty. There is plenty here for the nature lover, cyclist or walker

This apartment has been furnished to a high standard but with practical wipeable leather furniture to keep your stress levels down!! and offers comfortable accommodation for up to 6 people. The bedrooms can either provide twin singles in each room or doubles. Both bedrooms have built in wardrobes and there is plenty of storage here and under the bed.
The terrace offers dining for 6 as well as 4 sun beds and 2 parasols you can take down to the pool. The terrace is covered and provides a sunny place to breakfast and then relax and dine in the afternoon until sunset.

There is secure underground parking and a lift to all floors which is directly next to the apartment.

Inside the apartment you’ll find a useful information pack that offers information and advice about where to shop, eat, visit, how to find the best beaches etc. (This can also be sent by email upon request)
Our apartment is particularly well catered for children with a significant variety of boys and girl's toys as we have a 4 year old boy and various friends children have stayed in the apartment. We also have a newborn on the way so this will develop further this summer. Essentials range from step stool for brushing teeth, waterproof mattress covers to car seats and travel cot. The kitchen is also well equipped with children suitable plates, cups and cutlery and most importantly the terrace is on the ground floor and as such it is ideal for children..

The pool is also the largest on site and keeps the sun in the high season until later in the day when it is cooler.

The terrace offers views of the 11th Tee and the shared pool . A wonderful place to relax at the end of a days golf, sunbathing or exploring.

A large South West facing patio with sun from lunchtime onwards. Large communal pool 10 metres in front of apartment. Barbecue, Hot plate, Rattan furniture set (2 armchairs, sofa and table). A selection of sun loungers and sun chairs - these can be easily taken to the pool or beach. Large parasols and a selection of children's pool/beach toys. There is also a child's UV tent which guests are welcome to use. Two inflatable boats, lilo's, and we have golf clubs in the apartment that guests are welcome to use.

Changeover day
Changeover days are flexible dependant upon availability. The apartment is available from 12pm on arrival, unless otherwise arranged, and should be vacated by 12pm on day of departure - unless otherwise arranged.

Conditions

A refundable breakages deposit of £150 is required before arrival which will be refunded within two weeks of your departure (subject to a satisfactory property inspection).

We require a 25% deposit to secure your booking and the balance is due 8 weeks before your holiday.

The Murcia region

During your stay at Hacienda Riquelme, you may decide to venture out into the local area. Taking just a 15-minute drive to Los Alcazares, you will find some of the best award winning beaches and promenades in Spain. The shores of the Mar Menor bay are perfect for children and adults alike, with the low tides and constant warm temperature (due to the low density of this water), it is perfect for swimming. Take a stroll along the promenade, sample the various food delights on the front, hire loungers and parasols or just sit and watch the world go by.

Los Alcazares also has a number of street markets, Saturday close to the Las Velas shopping centre and Tuesday close to the Rio seca on the main road, the big Sunday market at the Autocine is also close by. Both are fabulous places for getting all those holiday bargains, leather items, jewellery etc.

The famous and therapeutic mud baths of the Mar Menor are close by. In Lo Pagan people come from all over the world to bask in this thick black mud. It is reputed to have many therapeutic qualities and "nueve banos" or nine baths are recommended for the process to be most beneficial.

The historical city of Cartagena is close by where one finds many Roman ruins. Much of the city has been regenerated and some of the streets pedestrianised, the whole port area is now looking superb. Close to the city a new Shopping arcade has been recently opened and the range of shops is fantastic, day trips to these attractions can be easily organised by your selves

The Hacienda Riquelme Golf Resort / Polaris World, Hacienda Riquelme area

Hacienda Riquelme is the latest development to be completed by Polaris World (a brand name synonymous with luxury resorts and spectacular with championship golf courses).

The resort is classed as a 4 star plus and at the moment features; a supermarket and bar / restaurant, numerous play areas (around the resort featuring swings, slides etc) and a swimming pool within a 2 minute walk of every apartment block.

Construction is under way at present on developing the original 'Hacienda' - the grand country house at the centre of the resort - the completed development will include numerous bars and quality restaurants, as well as a supermarket and golf pro-shop.. Work is due to be fully completed in May/June 2010..

“Excellent... everything you could need ... home from home !” Stayed here with my husband and 2 teenage daughters, ideal location on the resort, immediate access to the gorgeous pool... The apartment is furnished with no detail left out to suit our needs as well as thouse who travel with younger children. The place itself is spotless and its surroundings are beautiful.. I, myself am not into golf but those who are its fantastic !.. The main house and its grounds offer entertainment most nights of the week but for a change we definately recommend sucina a couple of miles down the road... various bars and eateries at reasonable prices.
