The cottage is a newly renovated stone building that at one time was the stable to one of the original farm houses (next door) on the hill in Mumbles over 150 years ago. The property has been very sympathetically renovated keeping the old features and architecture, complimenting it with the highest level of modern comforts and technology. The one bedroom luxury cottage comprises of the bedroom with white washed stone walls, hardwood (double glazed)windows & period furniture. There is a stairway that leads to a landing with views of Swansea Bay and the entrance to the bathrooms comprising of a power shower, toilet and double wash basins. The flooring through out this project is one inch thick oak planking, which runs through the cottage up and down stairs with only the bedroom being carpeted and the kitchen (original quarry black and red tiles). There is a gallery /mezz level upstairs which again sports a view of the bay. This is a area to relax in the oversize chair along side the book case and BOSE sound system (bring your ipod as there is a docking station).

The ground floor for the property consists of the primary living dining area with partial vaulted ceilings, stone walls, and oak beams. There is a large flat screen TV if you get tired of the view and a small but fully fitted gourmet kitchen where you have all you need to rustle up anything from your morning cappuccino to Sunday lunch for two, that is if you chose not to take advantage of any one of the local coffee shops and restaurants that are no more than a couple of minutes walk from your front door.

The South Wales region

Mumbles is a special little village that for many reasons seems to be known around the globe. It could be the fact that its situated at the end of Swansea Bay and has a historic Victorian Pier (one of the few left in the UK). It could be that we are surround by beautiful beaches, It could be that the cliff paths are spectacular for walking or early morning runs. It could be that there is local surf beaches and scene on our door step or that the mountain biking in the area is extensive. For the less active we have the village with a number of unique boutiques, restaurants and coffee spots. However l like to think we are world known purely because for some or all these reasons , Mumbles will leave you with some fantastic memories and a longing to revisit.

Gower

Walk or run around the cliffs. Visit the local beach or hop in the car ( or take your bike) and head down the Gower for a good pub lunch ( thats a good option rain or shine). Wander around the village for a little shopping or take the children to the pier to the penny arched ( well 10 penny now l guess) that's good on a rainy day.

Walk up and over Overland road down the other side to the beach and 'Surf Side' my fav coffee spot. In the summer it is idyllic and the winter we have a wood burning fire and friendly local banter. Joes ice cream is a must as most of us that were born here were reared on it (it's won many awards but plain vanilla is the original flavor usually with choc chips or choc & nuts) Windsurfing and Kiting are all on offer in the bay and make for some good viewing. Rainy days you might want to go into Swansea to watch a movie or wander around the marina (check out Two Can coffee shop and the locally designed jewellery sold in the old chaple behind this spot).

"A spot of luxury and quiet privacy at a very fair price"

In fact we were visiting relatives on Gower, but would have been more than happy on our 3 night break to explore more of the coastline around Mumbles. It could hardly be very much closer. 'Annex… More
