Stavros Studio is in a perfect position to enjoy a rural, laid-back atmosphere but without being too remote, as a small mini-store 4 minutes down the country lane services your day-to-day needs while the village of Gerani is only a 12-15 minute walk away.

Stavros is really is blessed with everything most people look for on a relaxing holiday: long quiet beach, large clean pool, a natural setting far from mass tourism, a quiet romantic beach-terrace taverna, and yet within easy access of a nearby village.

Families who have returned again and again say it is for a combination of the sense of seclusion and relaxation it gives them, safety for the children and child-friendliness. Couples who have returned say it is for the sense of space and relaxation in a romantic setting.

The Crete region

Crete is the largest and most southern of all the Greek holiday islands and has an interesting history, busy seaside resorts, pretty villages and a charm and character that will encourage you to explore this island of contrasts. Crete holidays have been popular with the British for many years and offer variety and Greek charm.

Crete lies at the point where the continents of Europe, Asia and Africa meet. It is the fifth largest island in the Mediterranean with an area of over 8,000 square kilometres. The island of Crete sits on an east-west axis and a length of nearly 260km, a maximum width of 60kmand a minimum width of only 12km.

Gerani area

Gerani is a village about 9Km from Chania on the west coast of the island of Crete. Gerani holidays are definitely for those looking for a quiet relaxed village with a good quiet beach away from the big crowds. Gerani holiday nights are likely to be spent in the smattering of small relaxed bars and restaurants.

Spice up a Gerani holiday in nearby Platanias, which is a much busier resort with another good beach. Chania, the interesting cosmopolitan historic Venetian capital of west Crete is just 9Km away and connected by regular buses. Here you will find plenty of sophistication and good shopping.

How to get there

Chania Airport is the nearest to Gerani , about 40 minutes' drive, while Heraklion Airport is 2 hours away. We would recommend Chania for convenience.

A Studio/apartment has 1 double bed (or 2 singles), 1 sofa, 1 small dining table, a kitchenette with limited cooking facilities and fridge, 1 shower-room with toilet, back and front balcony. A STUDIO feels quite spacious for a couple, having, in addition to the sleeping area with sliding French window, a seating area with a sofa-bed, separated by a half wall. There are wooden shutter-doors to the front and an open-plan small kitchenette and a fully-tiled shower room.

A studio sleeps 2-3 people. The interior of the studio gives a sense of traditional Greek design with their light marble floors, wooden shutter-doors and stone sinks.has air-conditioning, a wall safe box, a light marble floor, a tiled shower room with toilet, and a small dining table in a dining/sitting area with a sofa.

All linen, bath towels, foot towels and beach towels are included, with linen and bath towels changed twice a week. A maid cleans and tidies for you every other day.

Adjoining the beach is a good-sized swimming pool, sun terrace and beach bar, and there are plenty of sun-beds and umbrellas for use by the pool.

Although the pool is shared by the four villas, not everyone staying with us chooses the pool at the same time since the large sandy beach is right next to the pool and is also popular. Situated far enough from the villas that voices can't be heard and with a length almost the size of the width of an Olympic pool, our guests never complain that the pool is too noisy, too busy or too small.

The onsite beach-terrace taverna provides a wide range of Greek, Cretan and international foods, from breakfast and light snacks in the day time (the taverna & bar are open all day), to a full gourmet menu in the evening.

You are offered a range from the simplest to the most lavish of choices, with a choice to mix and match the different cuisines, accompanied by a range of Greek wines, retsina and raki.

We aim to provide our guests with a memorable eating and drinking experience in a relaxed, no-fuss ambience at affordable prices.

Conditions

Your deposit should be 50% of the total amount due, unless you are booking before 1st February.

Bookings before February require only a 20% deposit, with another 30% to be paid by 1st February. If you are booking less than 8 weeks away or to stay less than 7 days, you should pre-pay in full.
