This is an ideal location for anyone who wants to rest, contemplate, enjoy good food or generally imbibe the historic atmosphere of a Medieval Tuscan village.
It is particularly well suited for honeymooning couples, or anyone who wants time away in peace with a loved one, a few close friends, or even time alone. A car is virtually indispensable for day trips to Lucca, Florence, Pisa, or the seaside.
One can also just read in our garden, and watch the bees buzz and the beans grow. People with bee allergies should skip the garden.
Further details
As the space is small, and the stone stairs require confident maneuvering, it is probably best not to bring toddlers, but rather children with with good sea legs, so to speak.
Further details indoors
Our house is within the walls of what is one of ten 'castellos' which constitute the Pesciatina Svizzera. Our 'orto' or kitchen garden, is on the outskirts of the village, in true Medieval fashion, where one can go and sun bathe, or lie in the shade of a gazebo and read, or pick some lettuce. It is by no means elaborate but its rustic charm and coziness appeal to many. We also have bees, so anyone with bee allergies should avoid the garden.
There is a community pool less than 10k down the road.
Further details outdoors
As this is a Medieval village, one can only drive to the house on a three-wheeled ape or ride a donkey. The car park is a few paces below the piazza. This arrangement makes for very good exercise, and a quiet environment for rest and sleep, as well as giving one the sense they have entered another age.
