The Peloponnese region
You will find the LemonTree House a perfect base from which to explore the Argolida region of the Peloponnese, and for visiting the nearby islands of Poros, Hydra and Spetses, each offering the holiday maker a different experience.
There are many historical and cultural towns or villages around the mainland coast: Porto Heli, Kilada, Fourni, Methana, Kranidi, Galatas and Trizina, and Ermioni are just a few examples close by, or take a trip further afield to places such as Nafplio, which was once the capital of Greece, Argos, Mycenae, Epidavros, Athens, Tiryns, Assini, Tolon, Ancient Corinth and the Corinth Canal itself.
Take the opportunity for shopping, riding, walking, especially to the caves at Frachthi, rock climbing at Lizards Rock at Thermissia, Didyma, cycling, hiking, especially through the gorge of Katafyki, or relaxing on the beaches or swimming in the crystal blue sea. The area is also classed as having the best international scuba diving centre, for anyone who is experienced in scuba diving, or someone who wishes to sample a beginner’s course.
Market suitability for all ages, particulary those with an interest in cultural history, island hopping or bathing on some of the wonderful beaches.
Ermioni / Ermioni Old Village area
Ermioni itself is on a peninsular embraced on both sides by the sea, with a woodland area at the end called BISTI. This pine covered archaeological site is a perfect place to enjoy a leisurely walk, or swim in the crystal blue sea and enjoy some of the views across to Hydra and Thermissia. Here you will discover ancient remains, an old windmill and rocky coves. On the north side of the peninsular is the natural harbour called LIMANIA, with small fishing boats, shops, banks, post office, pharmacies, cafes, buses, taxis, ferries and the colourful weekly market. On the south side is MANDRAKIA, where you will find waterside bars, restaurants and tavernas with their octopus hung out in the sun, as well as music bars.
The area of Ermioni, is the undiscovered jewel of the Argolida and undiscovered by mass tourism. It is off the beaten track, a rare gem and has been kept a secret by the locals and visiting Athenians. Ermioni has one of the best climates all year round. The summer months are extremely hot, yet the winters are very mild with plenty of sunshine during the day, but cooler nights. It is a working Greek community with a mixture of ages, so it doesn't close down in winter.
Within the old village of Ermioni, there are many traditional white/blue/lemon painted houses, besides a museum, 2 churches, the local bakers, Gyros bar, a couple of supermarkets and a library with free WIFI for those who need to bring their laptops. The sea, restaurants and other amenities of Ermioni town, are just a few minutes walk away from LemonTree House.
Wandering around Ermioni you will come across traditional coffee shops and see the picturesque tavernas, which are overhung with octopus drying in the sun. The reputation for Ermioni is for producing fine products, such as pomegranates, citrus fruits, fresh fish and of course the well-known local olive oil. The colourful Thursday market is full of local produce.
In Ermioni you can enjoy the hospitality of the Greek people or lose yourself in a land of fascinating ancient history and myth. Linger over mouth-watering mezedes, sample the local rose wine or traditional Ouzo at the waterside tavernas, and ponder the colourful reflections of the fishing boats bobbing on gentle waters.

Guestbook for LemonTree House in ERMIONI
Family Djion/FRANCE/Apr 09.
Dear Bohdan & Elaine We want to thank you for the nice photographs we received. They will remind us of very nice lemon tree garden. The three days spent in Ermioni were very nice and relaxing. We enjoyed the village, the touch of Greek life, the walking along the harbour. We are sorry we missed the Orthodox Eastern (we did not know it was one week later than the Catholic one) but that is a good reason to come back to Ermioni some day. Thanks to you we could visit Lepitsa beach where we spent one morning under the sun and with a wonderfully blue sea in front of us. We thank you for your kind hospitality and for giving us the opportunity to spend a very "warm" family holiday in your comfortable house. Bruno, Montse, Sarah, Marc and Oscar who send warm greetings to your cat./UK/Apr 09.
Dearest Elaine & Bohdan, thank you so very much for a gorgeous Greek night out. It is such a pleasure getting to know you both. Can we scoop you up and take you back home! You both bring lots of calming joy to folks around you. We wish you the very best of times here. Thank you for being so warm and open. Peter, Julia and family/USA/Mar 09
We have just returned from a fabulous holiday in Greece. Our time was spent between Athens, islands and Ermioni. Ermioni has been just fabulous. The beautiful house is amazing with its character and the owners are truly hospitable. Never, never have we experienced such warmth, knowledge and hospitality. The places we explored were magical. No crowds, just able to wander at our own leisurely pace. The weather during our time, was perfect. Beautiful sunny skies, but cooler in the evenings. Mable and family/CONNECTICUT/Nov - Dec 08.
The house is magical and beautiful...............the owners, you are fabulous. Such a warm welcome and such kindness was a wonderful experience for us. Your knowledge and information was invaluble, to say the least. All of the services you provided made our holiday a wonderful Greek experience. One we shall remember for a long time. We would never have seen any of the places of interests, especially off the beaten track, had it not been for you. Thank you from us all. Jean and family/Saudi Arabia/Oct 08
"The house is at the centre of the country, very well kept and impeccably clean. Provisioning and allocation of the house very good even without the dishwasher. The hospitality of the owners is perfect, ready to assist you in all things, and prodigal of advice and information on place and location to be seen. Despite the proximity (they live upstairs) are very discreet. " Daniele Invernizzi and family/ITALY/Aug 08
We appreciated a lot your cordial welcome and especially your attention to fill the fridge with good Greek products (I like very much Greek cakes ...). We had a long road the day we arrived, so it was good to meet you in such a beautiful typical Greek house, well decorated and very comfortable. Your location is very pleasant because we can reach by foot the 2 ports ( for good diners on the sea) and all shops in Ermioni. We enjoyed the area because of the proximity of many different beaches, reached within 15 minutes by car and many excursions available from Ermioni. Epidaure, the eastern coast with small beautiful villages ... Your road book is absolutely perfect: better than any touristic guide! It was a pleasure to meet you and we hope you will have many nice guests, speaking well english....Thank you for every thing. It will be a pleasure to meet you again. Sandrine and family/FRANCE/Aug 08
A home of character, comfortable and decorated with relish, located in the middle of Ermioni, just a step away from trade and places of bathing. Ermioni, small city still preserved from tourism of mass, with two harbours in different ambiences, numerous taverns by the waterside for one, taverns and trade for other one. Owners attentive, available, but discreet. A guide put in disposition by the owners, very well informed and very useful. Yann and family/FRANCE/Aug 08
First, we would like to thank you very much for your hospitality, and your kindness. It was really great to have been welcome as you did, and we particulary appreciated the Bohdan's help when "Indie Léo" was sick. We spent a wonderful stay at the Lemon tree House, enjoyed living in Ermioni and have spent really very nice holidays; it's because of you !!! Thank you !!! Hope your flowers will well done, now that here you are !!!... We spent a beautifful evening with you the last one, thank you for the diner and for the images. It was a great moment ! It was a real pleasure to meet you. You are very kind people, and you will always be welcome at home if you would once coming in France. Best wishes, Guy, Jean-Claude, Léa, "Indie Léo", and Isabelle. Isabelle and family/FRANCE/Jul 08
Just wanted to say Thankyou both so much for your warmth and hospitality during our holiday in your lovely Lemon Tree House in beautiful Ermioni. The week was over much too quickly. Your information on the area was very useful and certainly got us to beaches we would not otherwise have found. Family Stott/ENGLAND/Jun 08
Thank you so much for our week in Ermioni. Lemon Tree House really was beautiful and had more than enough traditional features and more than enough modern comforts to make our stay memorable, comfortable, easy and great fun. And you two are stars at making people welcome. The journey to Athens was fine. We found Epidavros and the sinking bridge at Corinth easily under your expert tuition and both certainly lived up to expectations. Dick and friends/ENGLAND/Jun 08
Your book is super and a very useful manual. Ermioni is so charming and I think anyone who rents your house just has to enjoy themselves! Your welcome pack was extremely generous. Thanks for your hospitality; we were delighted with the whole experience! Ruth and family/IRELAND/Jun 08
To say the least we had a fabulous time with you. Your kindness and your hospitality was great. The pink file is such appropriate and full of valuable information. LemonTree House is such a rare gem and a beautiful place, especially being in the old village. Keep it as so. Jenny and friends/SCOTLAND/May 08
Dear Elaine and Bohdan, here we are back in Paris after two really nice weeks in Greece. We had a very good time in Ermioni and in the Lemon Tree House in particular. Your kindness and warm welcome will remain in our mind as much as all the nice things we saw in Argolida. Daniel & family/FRANCE/Apr 08
Catherine & family/FRANCE/Apr 08
Dear Elaine and Bohdan. We are finally settled in back home after a very delightful trip to Greece and, specifically, Ermioni. It was such a pleasure to meet and talk to both of you. Your interest in our comfort was very much appreciated. Your attention to details for our needs was very noticeable. The Lemon Tree House was neat and clean and so beautifully decorated, even out to the courtyard. The separate rooms accommodated all of us very comfortably. The location of it in the village was very suitable to our activities there, even though we had to walk a couple of blocks to our vehicle. We could go in any direction from there to either see sights, meet people or visit the shops. Also nearby were the tavernas and restaurants and grocery stores. We would highly recommend this to anyone that might enjoy getting away from the hustle and bustle of big cities and getting closer to the enjoyment of life at this level.
We had rented a vehicle that we drove from the airport in Athens, driving from there to Corinth, where we stopped for lunch. We then had a very scenic drive from there to Ermioni. Once there, we met Bohdan for the first time and were made to feel very welcome as he accompanied us to what was to be our very pleasant accommodations for several days. A little while later we had the pleasure of meeting Elaine, who was also warm and enthusiastic about our safe arrival there. We would have enjoyed spending more time with you both had we had more free time there. We do thank very much you for all of your helpfulness to all of our needs and answers to our questions about the when, where, and how of different things we were interested in doing. Jim & family/USA/Mar 08
Dear Elaine and Bohdan, We want to thank you very much for hosting us in your beautiful old house and for the hospitality you gave us all the time. It was really a pleasure for us to have your company in the evenings in the different tavernas, we all enjoyed every minute. You gave us a very good introduction to the Greek people, country and culture, in particular we found the folder you prepared for your guests very helpful. Please stay as you are. Julia & Fabian, Annemarie & Helmut/AUSTRIA/Dec 07 & Feb 08.
I would be glad to send you feedback oonour stay at the Lemontree house, especially since we have only good things to say about our stay in your house ( the children are adamant about coming back, as soon as possible: so you might even see us again! I already recommended your house to my father , who travels quite a bit...). It is just as we told you orally: everything was just perfect for us: you where delightfull and attentionate hosts, the house was beautiful, the village and the surroundings perfect...Catherine & family/FRANCE/November 07
We thought you were very helpful with all the info you gave us prior to our stay. The house was lovely and very nice and clean, with every detail thought of. We found very helpful that basics such as sugar, salt, rubbish bags, etc, were there. We really appreciated Bohdan's hospitality (like taking us to Didima and Portoheli) and the very nice detail of living milk, cheese, some biscuits, etc, a very nice touch. We also very much enjoyed Ermioni and the Peloponnese. With our very best wishes for you both. Eli & Mike/SPAIN/September 07
We would like to thank you very mach for the warm hospitality at your "Lemon Tree" house. The vacation at your charming place was the right thing for us. It is clear that every place & corner at the “Lemon tree house” were designed with care and love. Our little daughter said that she “did not imagine that Greece is so beautiful”. We wish all our friends will have that experience too. Family Kiri/ISRAEL/Sep 07
We all thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Ermione and especially in Lemon Tree House. The house is really nice - what with the quiet, the delightful village at the top of the hill (including the cats!) and the easy reach of the wonderful town and harbour with all the great restaurants to eat in. We loved swimming off the Besty, despite the jellyfish! We are not strangers to Greece but we found this area especially beautiful and ideal for making it the very restful holiday that we all found it to be. Most of all we were made very welcome - to the town and especially by yourselves. Finally, the day when Bohdan took us out was a real treat - visiting the Mycenaean ruins, seeing the extraordinary churches in the hole in the ground and shopping in Napthaly with Bohdan the guide pointing out to us so much to see and take in. Keith, Marion and family/UK/Aug 07
On behalf of Clare and the family I would like to record a big ‘thank you’ to you both. We had a really wonderful holiday - a real authentic slice of Greece, made all the more enjoyable by your helpfulness and hospitality. LemonTree House itself is a ‘little gem’ and your attention to detail with décor and presentation is top class. We wish you every success and happiness in your life in Ermioni. Family Brophy/IRELAND/Aug 07
Family Nadal/FRANCE/July 07.
We really enjoyed our stay with you and the many attractions of the Argolida - your guide was really useful, particularly in finding the beaches and local amenities. We will certainly pass on recommendations to our family and friends. Thanks for your hospitality and kindness - it added so much to our holiday......Family Gallagher/IRELAND/July 07
We were very happy with our stay in the Lemon Tree House. The owners were very helpful, friendly and made our stay a joy. We will recommend this to anyone planning on visiting Greece. The flat was lovely and fulfilled our expectations for a stay in a Greek village. We had all the amenities that we needed. This was a holiday that we will remember for a long time………….Jon & Anna Sigga/ICELAND/July 07
semaine FORMIDABLE avec des propriétaires adorables et très prévenants... Une semaine inoubliable grâce à eux car tout est fait pour nous sentir bien. Le logement est impeccable, non bruyant et bien situé. FORMIDABLE week with adorable and very attentive owners... One week unforgettable thanks to them because all is made to smell us well. Housing impeccable, nonnoisy and is well located…Family Leroy/FRANCE/July 07
We had a terrific time with you: your willingness to take us out and about added so much to our pleasure in the holiday. It was particularly exciting to get to a site such as the Egg about which we would otherwise have known nothing. We do look forward to the photos. Other feedback as requested: we very much liked the house as we like the feeling of being in the middle of a Greek community with all its attendant noises! The room was extremely comfortable but it was the courtyard that made it for us. The only thing that would have helped (and we realise that the split of the accommodation was the reason) would have been a small fridge, as we felt guilty if we needed to ask for our bottle of plonk or whatever. But overall we did very much appreciate your hospitality. We shall think of you and yiur efforts for the feline population of Hermione! Elizabeth &Peter/UK/ June 07
Dear Elaine, dear Bohdan, You are an absolutely fabulous couple and we ourselves are very glad that we chose the Lemon Tree House for our stay. Both the conversation with you and your service have been superb. When we four agreed that we dind't want to stay in any impersonal hotel, we couldn't imagine that the exact opposite would be a place SO nice and homely as yours. The Lemon Tree House itself is really charming, the sleeping rooms as well as the beds are spacious and comfortable, the bathrooms just right, and you can definetely spend some time within the kitchen and the two patios, if you want or need to. Also, the location is very beautiful, right in the middle of Ermioni with lots of tiny alleyways around - which all somehow lead to one of the two harbours, where you find many tavernas & bars. There are several supermarkets, bakeries, fruit shops and at least one butcher in town, all of them not too big, but you get nearly everything there and the people are very friendly. Try the feta from the coop-market opposite to the church! Bohdan & Elaine are really charming, and their service is one of the best we've ever experienced. We've encountered them both very familiar and decent; everything you might want to know, they will tell you. They also have a well prepared portfolio of the surrounding sites and beaches, so you have plenty of information at hand. Honestly: if you see this page, be aware that you found a gem………….. Matthias & friends/GERMANY/May 07
You were very helpful and the accommodation was emaculate and we really appreciated the clean towels and the offer of sheets, etc. I would definitely recommend your home to people. Thank you again for a pleasant stay……………………. Lynn/AUSTRALIA/May/07.

We stayed in Lemon tree house in april 2006 and it was exactly what we expected. The house is the middle of Ermioni, and has spacious bedrooms and a large kitchen/dining area. The owners, Bohdan & Elaine, are so gracious and they helped us preparing our visits. Cannot thank enough for the fantastic welcome and hospitality...........................Family Cordon/FRANCE/April 06
