Beautifully presented ground floor accommodation in a 17th C Greek village house, oozing with character, situated in the heart of the old village of Ermioni. Ideal for families, couples or friends. Market suitability for all ages, particularly those with an interest in cultural history, island hopping, rock climbing, walking, scuba diving, or relaxing on some of the wonderful surrounding beaches.All local amenities are within a few minutes walking distance to the town. Very central to beaches, historical sites and places of interest.
Ermioni is classed as an island town.....unspoilt.....undiscovered......magical. If you want to experience a stay in a beautiful Greek village house, listening to birds, istening to the locals, or watch some of the craftsmen at work, then a stay at the LemonTree House in ERMIONI will be a memorable one. Local village life is so enjoyable.
The accommodation benefits from all the comforts of modern living and includes central heating, inverter air conditioning throughout, ample hot and cold water, shuttered windows with mosquito net blinds and double glazed windows. The fully equipped dining kitchen has 2 traditional Greek style settees which could be used to sleep a fifth or sixth person, fitted cupboards and tiled worktop, electric cooker, small fridge with icebox, kettle and coffee maker. Double doors lead to a small private courtyard filled with flowers and has a expanding washing line. There is also an iron and ironing board.
The two shower rooms have showers, WC and wash hand basins with large mirrors.
The two twin bedrooms have 2 single, very comfortable beds in each, free standing wardrobes, chest of drawers, bed side cabinets and air conditioning.
A spacious private entrance hall is equipped with books, music, table and chairs and games.

All furnishings are to the highest standard and incorporate all the traditional features, which include original stone floors, stone arch which spans the width of the main kitchen dining area, fireplace which is in one of the bedrooms, thick stone walls, charming private courtyards, the main one shared with the owners, and the other small one private for guests) and shuttered windows.
Bedroom one has 2 single beds, an en-suite shower room, a double wardrobe, bedside cabinet, a chest of drawers and air conditioning. The en-suite shower room comprises of a walk-in shower, WC and wash hand basin.
Bedroom two has 2 single beds, a double wardrobe, one bedside cabinet, a chest of drawers and air conditioning. The separate shower room adjoining this bedroom comprises of a walk-in shower, WC and wash hand basin.
The dining kitchen is fully equipped and consists of table with adequate chairs to seat 6, two traditional Greek style bed settees, either for relaxing or sleeping on, a small fridge with a small freezer and air conditioning. Double patio doors lead to a small charming private courtyard filled with flowers and small B-B-Q.
There is a small lobby between the dining kitchen and bedroom two, which has double patio doors leading to a larger shared private courtyard (with the owners) and Bobby the cat.
The large private entrance hall comprises of a welsh dresser, a corner cabinet, a small table and chairs, where guests can relax and read, or listen to music.
A childs cot is available if necessary.
No washing machine as yet, but owners will do personal laudry @ 5 euros per load.

Due to the narrow streets, there is no parking by the house. Plenty of parking spaces are available at the nearby church, the main harbour front, or Mandrakia harbour. All within a few minutes walk away. During high season, the old village is very busy with holiday makers and Atheninas.
Both courtyards are filled with flowers and adequate furniture to enjoy relaxing outside.
WIFI is available for those who need to bring laptops.
Yorgos the local butcher will give you friendly service in the old village.
The fruit and veg shop has a good supply of fruit and vegetables.
A well stocked mini-market will allow you to buy any fresh bread besides other produces.
A few minutes walk to the main harbour front will give you more amenities and tavernas, including 2 banks, a post office, 3 chemists, supermarkets, butchers, fruit and veg shops and not to forget the local Thursday market, which is filled with fresh local produces besides other goods.
The house makes a very good base from which to explore the surrounding areas, beaches, historical sites and islands.

All linen and towels are included in the rental rates and are changed regularly. Cleaning is completed only in the middle of a 2 week stay.

The Peloponnese region
Little is written about Ermioni in the guide books, yet it is a beautiful Greek coastal town, very central to many places of historical and cultural interest, surrounded by many coves and beaches. It is situated, and gives its name to the Ermionida area, in the South-East of the Argolida (Argolis) region, within the Peloponnese, mainland Greece.
Ermioni (Ancient Hermione) can be divided into three sections. The commercial Limania port and harbour is located on the Northern side, with the lively Mandrakia on the Southern side of the peninsula. At the Eastern end of the town, is the archaeological pine-cladded forest area called the Bisti. Here one can enjoy leisurely walks at any time of the day, as there is plenty of shade, and visit the 5thC BC temple of Athena, and other ancient, Byzantine and medieval monuments. You can also swim in the clear blue sea, from the rocky coves along the Southern side of the Bisti, which overlook the islands of Dokos and Hydra. There are no beaches in Ermioni, apart from a very small stretch of sand close to the Bisti, where some local residents go to enjoy their swim. The sea surrounds the town from three sides, giving the feel of being on an island, but without the possibility of being stranded in adverse weather conditions.
Books refer to Ermioni as a seaside town of captivating beauty. This is absolutely correct, as it still remains authentically Greek, charming, hospitable and friendly. For the visitor to Ermioni, there are numerous amenities, from banks, post office, ATM machines, doctors, dentists, pharmacies, physiotherapist, tourist office where one can also hire cars, real estate offices if you wish to buy land or property, taxis, buses to Kranidi and Kosta, various shops, supermarkets, beauty salon, hairdressers, barbers, cafes, bars and tavernas.
There is a colourful weekly farmers market on Thursday mornings only, 07:30 - 12:30, selling assorted fresh fruit, fish and produce, various clothing, footwear, handicrafts and domestic household items.
Ermioni is a working community, with just over 3,000 permanent residents, so most facilities are open throughout the year. However, during winter, some tavernas do close for the olive harvesting season and re-open either in January or for the Orthodox Easter. Many festivals still take place throughout the year and should not be missed. Ermioni has one of the best micro-climates in the whole region, with the summer months being hot and sunny, and the winter months being warm, mostly dry with clear blue skies, which makes it a perfect time to visit.
This stunning villa is situated 3.5 kms out of Ermioni, where one will find peace and tranquility awaiting them. However, it is within walking or driving distance of Ermioni. Classed as being the undiscovered jewel of the Argolida and undiscovered by mass tourism. It is off the beaten track, a rare gem and has been kept a secret by the locals and visiting Athenians. Ermioni has one of the best climates all year round. The summer months are extremely hot, yet the winters are very mild with plenty of sunshine during the day, but cooler nights. It is a working Greek community with a mixture of ages, so it doesn't close down in winter. Everything is opened. Why not combine Ermioni with a stay in Athens, one of the Saronic islands, or Nafplio which was once the capital of Greece.
The town of Ermioni itself is on a peninsular embraced on both sides by the sea, with a woodland area at the end called BISTI. This pine covered archaeological site is a perfect place to enjoy a leisurely walk at any time of the year, or swim in the crystal blue sea and enjoy some of the views across to Hydra and Thermissia. Here you will discover ancient remains, an old windmill and rocky coves. On the north side of the peninsular is the natural harbour called LIMANIA, with small fishing boats, shops, banks, post office, pharmacies, cafes, buses, taxis, ferries and the colourful weekly market. On the south side is MANDRAKIA, where you will find waterside bars, restaurants and tavernas with their octopus hung out in the sun, as well as music bars.
Within the old village of Ermioni, there are many traditional Greek village houses, besides a museum and a toy museum, 2 churches, a mini market which sells fresh bread, Yorgos the village butcher, a fruit and veg shop which sells a good variety of fruit and vegetables, eggs and soft drinks, and a village library. The sea, restaurants and other amenities of Ermioni town, or the lively Mandrakia side, are just a few minutes walk away from LemonTree House.
Wandering around Ermioni you will come across traditional coffee shops and see the picturesque tavernas, which are overhung with octopus drying in the sun. The reputation for Ermioni is for producing fine products, such as pomegranates, citrus fruits, fresh fish, and of course the well-known local olive oil. The colourful Thursday market is full of local produce.
In Ermioni you can enjoy the hospitality of the Greek people or lose yourself in a land of fascinating ancient history and myth. Linger over mouth-watering mezedes, sample the local rose wine or traditional Ouzo at the waterside tavernas, and ponder the colourful reflections of the fishing boats bobbing on gentle waters.
