Rosswood House is modern holiday rental located on an elevated site in a peaceful setting overlooking Donegal Bay. Rosswood House is fully equipped for a very comfortable and enjoyable holiday or attending a wedding at any off our nearby hotels, Solis castle & Harveys point only 10 mins drive away,Abbey, Central, Millpark Hotels just 5 mins Sheltered by mature woodland on one side the house enjoys views over several small islands towards the sand dunes of Murvagh Golf Club. The holiday home is close to a number of major amenities - including historic Donegal Town (3km), the internationally renowned Donegal Golf Club at Murvagh (6km) and the popular surfing and beach resort at Rossnowlagh (13km)

This newly built holiday home is set in its own private lawns. The open-plan ground floor incorporates a beautifully crafted Solid Oak kitchen and dining area and also a cosy living area with access to the patio. The patio overlooks a gentle stream and enjoys lovely sea views . The holiday home can accommodate 9 people in 4 bright, spacious and comfortable bedrooms. A large utility room has plenty of storage space for golf clubs, fishing rods, hiking gear, surf boards etc.

Rosswood House is a great base to explore South West Donegal. Visitors can enjoy country walks along the side of the bay at Rossmore, discover the nearby towns of Ballyshannon, Bundoran and Mountcharles. Also popular with walkers are the Slieve League cliffs, the highest cliffs in Europe. Enjoy the golden beaches of Murvagh and Rossnowlagh. Within a half hours drive you also have the wonderful 'Yeats Country' in Sligo and the majestic Fermanagh Lakelands.

Closest airports Derry 1 hour , Ireland West Knock Airport 1 hour 20 mins... Low cost Airline Ryanair fly to both these Airports from many UK destinations . Fly Be & Bmibaby airlines fly to knock.. Dublin Airport is just under a 3 hours drive away.

South Donegal

For the golfer the holiday home is centrally situated for playing the great links courses of south Donegal including the Donegal Golf Club at nearby Murvagh and at Bundoran. Those who simply want to enjoy the natural beauty of this part of Ireland will be spoilt for choice - from the windswept St. John's peninsula to the spectacular sea cliffs at Slieve League and from the majestic Blue Stack Mountains to the beautiful beaches at Murvagh, Rossnowlagh and Bundoran.

Lovers of good food will not be disappointed either - there are a number of excellent restaurants throughout the locality including the award winning Coxtown Manor which is a mere 10 min drive away. Within a half hours drive you also have the wonderful 'Yeats Country' in Sligo and the majestic Fermanagh Lakelands.

Local Attractions and Amenities

Donegal Town is of great historical interest and has numerous tourist attractions. Donegal Castle stands beside The Diamond, overlooking the River Eske. Guided historical tours of Donegal Town take place on a daily basis during the summer and the Waterbus takes you around Donegal Bay. The ruins of Donegal Abbey, situated on the bay, are open to the public.

Golf - superb 18 hole links championship courses are located at nearby Murvagh (6km) and at Bundoran (24km)

Surfing - Nearby Rossnowlagh has some of the best surfing in the world and the European Championships have been held here a number of times

Walking - Many well-signed walks can be enjoyed in the nearby Blue Stack Mountains .

Horse-Riding - There are several horse-riding and trekking establishments in the area where you can enjoy an afternoon on horseback, riding through some of Ireland's most beautiful scenery.

Cycling - South Donegal abounds with small, winding roads which offer spectacular views around every corner and are ideal for cycling.

Angling - coarse and sea angling with sea angling boats available for local chartering.

Waterworld in Bundoran - one of Ireland's leading Indoor Aqua Adventure Playground is located on the seafront in Bundoran

The Province of Ulster region

Rossmore is just outside Donegal Town and has breathtaking views of Donegal Bay. Rosswood House is set on Private Grounds with a Forest to one side the Atlantic Ocean to another and because of its elevated site has views of Donegal Mountains

Donegal Town is high on a list of places to visit in Ireland. It was home to both the O Donnell Clan (1200-1600 AD) and the Four Masters, the most famous and renowned of all Irish scholars.

Daily tours of Donegal castle are available in the summer. A tour of the Donegal Coastline can be appreciated onboard the local Waterbus. The picturesque Lough Eske and Eas Dún Falls are within a short drive of the town with stunning views of the Bluestack Mountains.

"Excellent stay in Rossmore House once again"

We love this house having stayed there for Christmas 2013. Load of space, very comfortable, well equipped, peaceful, ever changing stunning view. Murvagh beach is wonderful and plenty of facilities in Donegal town and nearby. Lovely coffee shop in craft centre in Donegal town. Highly recommended.

Thanks for the Kind Words.. Been a Dog Owner myself I fully understand the importance of been able to take your Pet with you on Holidays. WIFI is also a crucial element for any Holiday particularly for keeping in touch with Family and friends thru Facebook , Viber , Skype etc
The Waterbus is a nice trip and I too would recommend this to any of my Guests.. Delighted that you all enjoyed the magnificent views from the property and that the Children had a good Holiday also.. If you are ever back give me a shout all repeat Business enjoys a 10% Discount

The House has an amazing selection of DVD's for both Children and Adults , along with complimentary Wifi ,Large open area Gardens Adjoined by Green Pastures with Miniature Ponies and wonderful walks along the Private Road leading to Rosswood House. It is ideal for Children and all love the facilities
There are 3 Benches at Rear of House. Apologies over the High Chair this was an oversight. Contact Number & Directions were furnished before arrival 3 Star rating is not a fair reflection of Rosswood House

You were truly blessed with gorgeous weather and it was great you were able to make lots of use of the outdoor seating and BBQ, . Agree and I would also highly recommend Gallaghers Taxis..
