“A haven of comfort and cosiness!” We had the pleasure of staying in this beautiful holiday home at the end of July for a week and we loved it so much we hope to return there again at some stage. It was everything you could wish for and so much more. Anita (John was puppy-sitting) greeted us warmly and made us so welcome to her lovely home. She was so helpful in her advice re the area and was very anxious that we have a good holiday, Everything in the house is of the highest quality – spacious rooms, comfortable beds and seating, geo thermal heating, wonderful kitchen and immaculate furnishings. Our two girls loved the cosy seating upstairs and downstairs to curl up and read in. The sunroom has the most wonderful views to enjoy as you relax in it. We enjoyed watching mountain hares and a fox in the garden one morning! Our weather for the week was bad and the house was so cosy, warm and homely to return to. ‘Derryreel Cottage’ is in a quiet, peaceful, most scenic area with lovely quiet roads to walk or cycle on and beautiful beaches to visit. We’d highly recommend it as a place to stay. It is a haven of comfort and cosiness to relax in.
On Horn Head looking towards Dunfanaghy with Muckish Mountain as a back drop. The house was well equipped with each couple having their own ensuite. Owner , Ann Marie was available if required. We would recommend this accommodation and be happy to use it again, …

Dunfanaghy, Sheep Haven Bay, County Donegal - 5608
Excellent all round
Dunfanaghy - lovely
house location - excellent
Property itself - clean, comfortable, well equipped.
I was there with my wife, 13 year old daughter, 11 year old son and cocker spaniel. We all really enjoyed it. Lots to do outdoors and places to visit. Kids highlight was surf lessons.
Good choice of bar/restaurants within very close walk, including live music and log fires. All allowed children and our dog.
The house has a well equipped dining kitchen. Central heating which we did not use much as there is a lovely real coal/log fire. 3 cozy bedrooms and a bathroom. The enclosed garden was perfect for our dog. No wifi but all bars and restaurants have it.
We look forward to visiting again. …
Dunfanaghy | 4BR house | Superb location
Location, Location, Location!
We are keen walkers, particularly hill walking. This house is ideally located to access some of the best hill walking that Donegal has to offer - Horn Head, Muckish, Melmore Head, Glenveagh, Bloody Foreland and many more. For the less adventurous, there are plenty of low level walking opportunities too, including the superb, long Dunfanaghy beach the Famine Walk and Tramore Strand. The village of Dunfanaghy has everything you could want just a stroll away - shops, pubs, hotel, take-aways and a thriving local atmosphere. We found the house with no trouble and found it to be immaculately kept. In fact we thought that the photos on the site did not do it justice! The golf course is a short walk away alongside the beach which is even closer - on the sand within 2 minutes. We can thoroughly recommend this house which can sleep many more than the two of us. It has two bathrooms - one up, one down - so we didn't even have to go upstairs. We would go back again on our next trip to Donegal. …
BarleyCorn House on the Wild Atlantic Way with Spectacular Ocean View Dunfanaghy
Breath taking panoramic views
The barley corn house is a beautiful hidden gem on the hills of Errarooey Mor. My girlfriend and I spent a beautiful weekend here were we explored all of the exciting things Donegal has to offer. Driving up to the Barley corn house we were greeted by the breath taking views of Tory island. The house had everything we could have asked for, and so many extras. Sitting by the open fire watching the sun set was one of my highlights. The warm family feeling of the house made us feel so at home. I would recommend a stay at the barley corn house to any one, we will be returning again soon. Thank you so much for a wonderful stay. …
