“A haven of comfort and cosiness!” We had the pleasure of staying in this beautiful holiday home at the end of July for a week and we loved it so much we hope to return there again at some stage. It was everything you could wish for and so much more. Anita (John was puppy-sitting) greeted us warmly and made us so welcome to her lovely home. She was so helpful in her advice re the area and was very anxious that we have a good holiday, Everything in the house is of the highest quality – spacious rooms, comfortable beds and seating, geo thermal heating, wonderful kitchen and immaculate furnishings. Our two girls loved the cosy seating upstairs and downstairs to curl up and read in. The sunroom has the most wonderful views to enjoy as you relax in it. We enjoyed watching mountain hares and a fox in the garden one morning! Our weather for the week was bad and the house was so cosy, warm and homely to return to. ‘Derryreel Cottage’ is in a quiet, peaceful, most scenic area with lovely quiet roads to walk or cycle on and beautiful beaches to visit. We’d highly recommend it as a place to stay. It is a haven of comfort and cosiness to relax in.
On Horn Head looking towards Dunfanaghy with Muckish Mountain as a back drop. The house was well equipped with each couple having their own ensuite. Owner , Ann Marie was available if required. We would recommend this accommodation and be happy to use it again, …

AILT Cottage near Dunfanaghy
Had a lovely time at this large and spacious holiday home. We travelled with 4 adults and 4 young children and there was more than enough room. We mostly used the house as a base and travelled to nearby attractions during our stay including Dunlewey Centre and Glenveigh National Park. As we didn't have much sunshine during our week stay we didn't really get to avail of the lovely garden although the children really enjoyed seeing the chickens which wanted into the garden.
All cooking utensils provided that we needed. There was a slight issue with the oven however this was fixed the same evening with owners even cooking our pizzas for us in their house next door!
Had a great time and wouldn't hesitate to return or to recommend to friends/family.
Thanks :) …
Barley Corn House on Wild Atlantic Way with golf nearby in Dunfanaghy
Breath taking panoramic views
The barley corn house is a beautiful hidden gem on the hills of Errarooey Mor. My girlfriend and I spent a beautiful weekend here were we explored all of the exciting things Donegal has to offer. Driving up to the Barley corn house we were greeted by the breath taking views of Tory island. The house had everything we could have asked for, and so many extras. Sitting by the open fire watching the sun set was one of my highlights. The warm family feeling of the house made us feel so at home. I would recommend a stay at the barley corn house to any one, we will be returning again soon. Thank you so much for a wonderful stay. …
