The Burgundy region
Simply stunning. The Town is large but has a village feel. It is still small enough to discover and not be overwhelmed. Warm friendly people, great food and markets. Old buildings that hold such history you will be entranced for weeks as you wonder the streets, the region and the Dijon coffee shops. Something for everyone! The art gallery is filled with wonderful paintings the churches feel like you have gone to heaven. The end of the week is met with the chimes from the church seen from the apartment windows as the breeze carries the sound into your lounge room.
Dijon is a very beautiful town, full of historic buildings and wonderful restaurants. Paris is a pleasant 1.5 hours away by TGV train. Dijon is the capital of the famous wine growing district of Burgundy. You could spend a week just wandering the old town. Alternatively, hire a car a visit some of the beautiful towns nearby. Long term parking is available at Saint Anne car park a short three minute walk away.
