About the home

This is a beautiful apartment right in the heart of town. Comprising of two bedrooms, kitchen, bathroom and living area, Chez George provides a spacious, comfortable place from which to enjoy your holiday in Carcassonne. We have a fully equipped kitchen, so make yourself at home!

The apartment is located in the centre of the Bastide St Louis with three living room windows opening out onto the main pedestrian thoroughfare. La Cite is only a 15 minute walk from us and the Canal du Midi is only 2 minutes away! Surrounded by restaurants and cafes, you won't be short of places to enjoy a coffee or a glass of red wine with the local speciality of cassoulet.

The Languedoc-Roussillon / Aude region

Languedoc-Rousillon has of the largest wine producing areas in the world. It is an area with a rich history borne out by the many Cathar castles perched high on rugged summits.

Miles of fine sandy beaches, a hinterland rising up the foothills of the Massif Central and the Pyrénées - Languedoc-Roussillon is a land of sun-filled charm.

The Languedoc-Roussillon region, where the Pyrénées Mountains plunge into the Mediterranean, has come into its own with a sparkling group of new yacht-port resorts.

The Carcassonne area

Places of interest include the two World Heritage Sites of the town, namely the Cité and the Canal du Midi. The bustling provincial town has one of the best French Saturday morning markets you are likely to find.

For longer stay guests there are the Black Mountains to the north and the Pyrennees to the south with lots to explore in both. The Summer festival in July and August is excellent and the Winter markets and skate rink are a lot of fun.
Besides the pretty-as-a-picture walled city and the hordes of visitors that throng its streets, there is a low-key, lower town that dates back to the Middle Ages. Known as the Bastide Saint Louis, it features typically French bars, shops, cafés and restaurants, as well as all the standard services and amenities you’d expect, and as such it’s the perfect antidote to the tourist attraction that towers above it.

“fantastic apartment” the apartment is set right in the heart of the town so everything is on the doorstep. The walk to the medieval cite is only about 15mins and very easy. The apartment is fabulous. High ceilings, big windows, huge bedroom and really well furnished and kitted out. We stay in many rented properties and this was one of my favourites.

“Fabulous,roomy, central apartment” Had a thoroughly enjoyable week in Carcassonne staying at Chez George-apartment was clean,roomy ,had everything we could need,including a bottle of wine left by the owners and was perfectly placed for Place Carnot where we breakfasted,lunched and shopped most days. The markets are there and the one on a Saturday,in particular,was fantastic.The range of cafes and restaurants was also great. Woudl more than happily stay there again.
