The Fuerteventura region
Fuerteventura is the second largest island in the Canaries and the least populated. It enjoys a sunny mild climate all year round with little if any rain. It boasts some of the worlds finest beaches which range from the huge white sand dunes, rolling surf and waves of Corralejo and Oliva to the calm never ending beautiful beaches of Costa Calma & Sotavento. The capital of the island Puerto del Rosario is a bustling Canarian town which has a new huge shopping mall but still retains its character and local history. There are plenty of oportunities to learn about Fuerteventura's history, traditions, local cuisine and crafts by visiting some of the other villages on the island such as Betancuria, Cotillo and others Another attraction is the American Star which is a shipwreck off the west coast and can be seen from the shoreline. For more lively activities there are a host of attractions such as windsurfing, snorkelling, quad rides, off road motorbikes, zoo, water park and many many more.........
Caleta de Fuste / Costa de Antigua area
Nuevo Horizonte, also known as Costa Antigua is situated about 8 km south of the airport and about 2km north of Costa Caleta. The area has recently undergoing some development so is quieter than some of the other busier resorts which gives its own special charm; however there are some nice hotels, bars, restaurants and supermarkets. Nearby there are estate agents if youre thinking of investing yourself, and various bars Mustang Sallys, Kavanaghs, Katie Dalys and others which offer entertainment, good food and drink at reasonable prices in a very friendly atmosphere. Opened Summer 08 was the local Chinese restaurant, the food from which is superb either eaten inside or on the terrace of the beautiful spacious restaurant or as takeaway. We also have two local supermarkets, hairdressers, Villa Pizza House and a shop called Bits and Pieces which as its name suggests sells various items from lightbulbs to garden furniture to food. If a livelier pace of life is what youre looking for then the neighbouring long established resort of Caleta de Fuste is only minutes away. This resort can be accessed on foot via an illuminated costal walkway from Nuevo Horizonte to Caleta de Fuste taking between 20-40 mins or via a free bus service within 5 mins walk. This free bus service will also take you to the beaches, Golf Course and the Atlantico Shopping Centre where there are bars, restaurants, a bowling alley, cinemas and a large Spar supermarket.
How to get there
Various companies fly to Fuerteventura and prices vary greatly depending on the time of year. Ryan Air fly to Fuerteventura from Dublin and Shannon 3 times a week and also fromGirona (Barcelona) from March 2007, and Thomas Cook Fly are currently offering some good deals, again prices vary. Having a car isnt a necessary thing as public transport is good but car hire can be relatively cheap and a very good way of seeing other parts of the island and beaches which are amazing and well worthwhile visiting If you'd like us to recommend flight and car hire details please contact us

Just a quick note to let you know what a great holiday we had. Your villa is very spacious, equipped to a high standard and big enough to accommodate our large party.
The pool area was a suntrap but the patio caught the breeze from the sea so we had the best of both worlds!! Thank you for providing extra sunbeds and the cushions. We didn't want to come away from the pool.
I would be more than happy to visit your villa again and would recommend it to friends and family as well. (Sept 08)
