The Costa del Sol region
Calahonda is a great base to explore the Costa del Sol, the cosmopolitan resort of Marbella, the lively Fuengirola, the whitewashed village of Mijas or the exculsive Puerto Banus are all within a 15 minute drive.
Further afield you can venture to the shops and sights of Malaga, the historic town of Ronda, or see the monkeys on the rock of Gibraltar.
Golf is a major attraction in the region with over 35 18-hole courses between Malaga and Gilbraltar. With an average of 320 sunshine days a year, it makes a perfect choice for all year round golf, especially as Cabopino golf course and driving range is just a 3 minute drive away.
Calahonda has a variety of amenties shops, bars, restaurants, several golf courses are located within the local area. there is a mini-train which is a great way of exploring the resort, and a local bus stop and taxi rank just a few minutes walk away.
Various watersports are available at Cabopino beach including jet skis, pedalos etc, there are also a selection of beach bars at La Luna and Cabopino to enjoy a snack, excellent seafood or just a beer at sunset.
The nearest commercial centre at el Cipress is just a 5 minute walk away, there is also los olivos and El Zoco commercial centres within a 5 minute drive, or for serious retail therapy La Canada indoor mall is just a 10 minute drive.
Many markets take place locally at Calahonda, Calypso and La Cala, we provide a full list of all the market days in our information book available in the apartment.
For the night owls the Avenida de Espana 'The Strip' (5 minutes by taxi/20 minute walk) has many bars open until the early hours or a 10 minute drive by taxi or local bus will take you to lively Fuengirola and the world famous Nikki Beach In Elviria, Marbella.

"Wonderful - Home from home!"

"Great apartment for a family beach holiday"
We stayed at this apartment with a young baby , we liked the fact it had a free cot and highchair whereas a lot charged for it, it was a 10 minute walk to the nice local beach at la Luna, which had a beach bar and beds etc. the apartment was clean and spacious, the balcony was nice and sunny and we ate out there every night as it was really warm for October, there was a little square with a few shops about a 5 minute walk away, the lidl was a few minutes further, but was a lot cheaper than supersol, we walked to the strip a few times and tried the Italian and the slow boat Chinese which were both really nice, we got a taxi home one night as it was around a 25 minute walk and we had had a too few many free after drink shots at the Chinese! All in all it was a great holiday, everything was pretty close and it was good value for money.

"Great little apartment in a lovely family area"
We went to this apartment for the school hols, with 2 young kids (1 and 6 years) we hadn't been to the area before but friends had recommended this apartment to us. It was ideal for family's, we had a decent cot and highchair for the baby and had playstation and DVDs etc to keep the older one entertained! It's in a quiet residential area and it was around a 5 minute walk to a little shopping area with a nice tapas place a few other cafes and shops plus a supersol and lidl supermarket (lidl is cheaper !!) la Luna beach was around the same walk, there is a little underpass you can get to it so you don't have to cross any big roads which was nice with the pram, la Luna is lovely, very local beach, great food and sunbeds etc, there was a bigger beach about a further 20 mins walk away which had more restaurants and a lovely marina but we were happy here most days. The apartment itself was nice and clean and spacious, had a lift as well which was great with the pram, the pool also had a big grass area to run around and was fairly quiet most days, all in all a great family beach holiday and we would certainly return.
