A spacious apartment in a mainly private block in the popular Dromont area of Avoriaz that offers the ideal combination of direct ski in/ski out access to the lifts and a very easy access to the town centre. The apartment is totally refurbished and offers 2 double beds (including a Queen size sofa bed) and two full size bunks. It also has a brand new fitted kitchen with full oven and two luxury bathrooms, one with a shower and one with a bath. For Avoriaz the apartment is unusually large and offers many home comforts not typically found in self-catering accommodation in France.

Apartment Blanchot is one storey on the 6th floor of the Sasanka residence. It is totally refurbished in an Alpine wood finish and with brand new carpeting and furniture throughout. It is very warm and spacious with unrestricted views over the valley to Morzine and a sizeable, south facing balcony. It has a fully-fitted new kitchen with full size oven, hot plate, microwave and dishwasher. The apartment is very roomy and can sleep and seat 8 people with plenty of room for storage. It has free wifi access, MP3 player, flat screen TV/DVD, electric kettle, coffee machine, toaster and a raclette set.

A good size balcony with lovely, unrestricted views over the valley and the Town Piste. The bottom floor of the block leads directly onto the piste with your private ski locker. The top floor gives direct access to the town which is a very few minutes walk but just far enough for evening peace and quiet.

The swimming pools are in the Aquariaz Centre, the Avoriaz Centre Parks complex and are payable separately. The trampolines and climbing frames are facilites provided by the town.

The Rhône-Alpes region

The Haute-Savoie offers some of the most accessible Alpine ski-ing in Europe and the Portes du Soleil is the nearest linked ski galaxy to Geneva. Morzine, Chatel, Morgins and Champery are just some of the resorts that are linked to Avoriaz.

Chamonix, home of the Mont Blanc, is only one hour's drive as is Annecy, the pretty medieval walled town on the lake. Geneva is one and a half hour's drive.


Avoriaz lies high up at an altitude of 1800m in the French Alps. It is situated at the centre of the 14 French and Swiss and resorts that together make up the world's largest interanational ski area - The Portes du Soleil. As the highest resort in the region it is snow sure with an average of 8m per year offering views of Lac Leman, Les Dents du Midi, Les Dents Blanches.

Avoriaz is car-free, making it particularly suitable for families and children. Transport in the resort is by horse drawn sledge and tanksi (a track type vehicle).

Sledging is available in the town centre. There is an open air ice rink, a fitness centre with gym, fitness classes, sauna, hamam within metres of the apartment.

Avoriaz has an active calendar of events throughout the season with numerous special events, festivals, firework displays, competitions and many children's activities that change on a weekly basis.

"Great loacation and Chalet. Service was not so great."

Thank you for taking the time to review our apartment. We were delighted to read that you had such a fantastic week and enjoyed our apartment. I am sorry you were disappointed with our level of service and found us to be unhelpful. We certainly did not intend to be unhelpful and had had hoped that by providing you with a personal mobile number in order that you could call us out of hours and facilitating your request to pay by alternative means, this would have been useful. We have reviewed the 20 emails you sent us leading up to your booking and it does seem that we succeeded in booking and confirming all your transfers and lift passes, alerted you regarding inclement weather that my delay your journey and personally met you to show you into the apartment. We note you found our representatives rude for which we apologise. Please understand we do not have “workers” but are a team of owners’ representatives who support our guests in resort and we are all equally knowledgeable about our properties, the resort and facilities. Please accept our apologies if we failed to explain the lift properly, I am wondering if it was perhaps the lateness of the hour when you arrived, being in the early hours of the morning that caused us to be absentminded? All in all please do accept our sincere apologies if you found us to be abrupt - this was certainly not our intention, nor our usual practice. We are pleased that you had an enjoyable holiday and a great week of skiing in our property.

"High standards"

Stayed in Avoriaz for the week in late Jan 2015. Avoriaz is one of our favorite resort and Avoriaz Chalet made our stay really good. Prior to the stay, the team was present and responsive for booking and pre-arrival information. The information received the week prior was helpful to prepare the stay. At arrival and after a quick call to the team, Matt was waiting for us at the entrance of the apartment, helping us carry stuff in and showing us around. The Chalet Choucas was very good - excellent quality for the area. We have quite high standards :-) and I have honestly nothing to say negative about the place. Everything was great. More importantly, the team (Matt) was present and responsive to all our requests. WE WILL COME BACK

"Great location, excellent spacious apartment, fully equipped!"

We are delighted that you enjoyed your stay in Apartment Choucas so much. As you say, it is a perfect size for a large family - with two sizeable bedrooms and bathrooms. I am sorry if the cleaning/service charge was not made sufficiently clear - we will review this. The cleaning is arranged locally by the owners rather than by the booking agent which is why it is paid separately from the rent. We very much hope that you will be able to return to Avoriaz Chalets in due course.

"Fantastic, Spacious, Spotless!"

From the second we booked with Phil we were taken care off, they sent us information on the resort, ski hire, transfers and other bits of interest which was excellent. The apartment was large for one in Avoriaz with 2 big double rooms which is hard to find both with double beds! It was spotless and homely and had everything we needed. It was an added bonus having 2 bathrooms one with a bath which was used a lot after a long day on the slopes! Brilliant location for getting into the centre of town and was truly ski in/out. We had a tremendous week and will be booking again for next year. Thanks to the team for helping us out during the week and for checking us in/out so well. The arrival bottle of wine was a really nice touch! Thanks again Jules and family x

"Great location and comfortable living space."

Despite our delayed arrival, we were promptly greeted at the apartment with the keys. The apartment is comfortably and tastefully appointed. The appliances were all in good working order. If it matters to you, there is no washer/dryer and it is almost 10 euros for a load of laundry at the local laundromat which is next to the Sherpa Grocery. The beds and bedding were very comfortable. The apartment was cozy and warm, with adequate space for a family of 5. The internet worked well, even better after resetting the wireless router. Ski in and ski out was unbeatable. Multilple lifts are accessed just a short ski down the hill. The apartment is cleaned mid-week and at the end for an additional fee that was not clearly indicated until after booking (our only complaint).

Thank you for your kind words - we will certainly emphasise the cleaning charges more strongly. We hope to welcome you back to Avoriaz in the near future.

"Fantastic! Will definitely come back!"

We stayed in Choucas at the end of last ski season and had the most amazing holiday! The staff at Avoriaz Chalets were incredibly helpful from start to finish. From being picked up at Geneva airport, to arriving in resort and checking in to the chalet, the staff could not have been more helpful. During the week we found that the Avoriaz Chalets team really do know Avoriaz and the surrounding area like the back of their hands. They gave us great tips on where to ski and made some great recommendations on where to eat as well. When one of our lightbulbs blew in the bedroom, they were there within the hour and everything was fixed. The chalet itself is beautifully decorated and the views are breathtaking. The kitchen and bathrooms are all of very high quality; there was always plenty of hot water and a nice strong shower to greet us off the slopes! The ski in/ski out facility is brilliant too! We wanted a comfortable and easy ski holiday and we got all of that and more! We will definitely be returning. Many thanks to the Avoriaz Chalet team! We're about to book our 2013 stay.....!

"Gorgeous slopes and great apartment"

We have just returned from 2 weeks staying in an apartment in Sassanka. The apartment was lovely modern and roomy, it had everything on hand that you would need for a holiday including a ski/boot room which steps straight out onto the slopes! We were well looked after by our hosts Nikki and Philip, who also provided us with a lot of advice regarding slopes and restaurants which was extremely helpful. The resort itself is very well catered for and despite our misgivings about going to a purpose built resort, the location was stunning perched on top of a cliff and the buildings themseles are clad in wood to soften the whole apartment block effect which helps! An amazing array of slopes to choose from for all levels and weather conditions. All in all we had a fabulous trip.
