From the owner

A charming holiday cottage in a quiet village in Swiss Normandy. Spacious and bright with comfortable furnishings.

PLEASE SEE THE SPECIAL NOTES AT THE END OF THIS SECTION BEFORE BOOKING

Our typical Normandy house is the perfect place to enjoy the peace and tranquility of Berjou village whilst being a very short drive or bike ride from several interesting towns.

The river Orne and the surrounding environment are breathtaking creating an idyllic setting. It is a paradise for water sport enthusiasts who are able to discover hidden landscapes by kayak or canoe. The rocky environment creates a perfect setting for Nordic walking, horse riding, mountain biking and rock climbing.

Ample parking in the private forecourt for 2 cars with additional space outside the house along the quiet road. Located in the quiet village of Berjou, close to main towns of Conde-sur-Noireau, Pont d'Ouilly, Flers, Athis-de-l'Orne and Falaise, to name a few. Berjou has a wonderful boulangerie with a well-stocked village shop. A short 10 minute drive and you'll have access to large supermarkets and many, many restaurants serving delicious food, wine and of course, Calvados/Cidre!

A great base to explore the beautiful Normandy countryside by bike, on foot or by car. Easy access to Normandy D-Day beaches, historic Bayeux, Falaise, Mont Saint-Michel, Domfront and many more amazing places.

SPECIAL NOTES

1. Chez Nous Berjou is offered as a tranquil retreat in a rural area and some of the facilities are old-fashioned. The the cottage is not intended to be luxury accommodation and this is reflected in the price.

2. This is a two-hundred-year-old stone cottage with many exposed beams, nooks and crannies and to avoid triggering allergies, toxic pesticides are not used indoors. For those reasons, no matter how carefully the cottage is cleaned, there are likely to be more spiders than in a modern house.

3. Although a television is provided for playing DVDs, there is no satellite and very poor terrestrial reception.

4. Heating is by two wood stoves and several small electric heaters. Firewood is provided in winter.

5. The stairs are quite steep and may not be suitable for people with mobility problems. A child gate is provided for the top of the stairs, but small children will need to be supervised carefully.

6. The original upstairs window is at floor-level, so small children will need to be supervised carefully.

PLEASE THINK CAREFULLY BEFORE BOOKING if any of the above could be a problem for you.
