Home description

Brand new, tastefully furnished and spacious 2nd floor fully air conditioned apartment with an unusually large balcony with stunning views of the mountains and the village of La Cala.
It is a two minute flat walk to the nearest golf club and a 5 minute walk into the centre of La Cala and 7 minutes to the beach.
There is a local outdoor market a short walk which is in front of the complex 2 days per week, where you can buy local home grown fruit and veg and browse for bargains.

The resorts of Fuengirola, Benalmadena, Calahonda and Marbella are a short drive away with an excellent bus service available.

The Costa del Sol/Malaga region

With over 320 days of lovely sunshine and miles upon miles of Blue Flag sandy beaches this really is a place to come and relax and enjoy yourselves.

The apartment is within easy reach of various other resorts and attractions:-

Fuengirola is central for numerous activities and is 10 mins away from La Cala. It has 5 miles of sandy beaches,an open air Zoo and Aqua park. Sohail Castle is situated at the west end of the promenade and has a park which hosts many festivals throughout the year. Fuengirola has a multitude of nightlife activities varied restaurants and late-night/early morning bars for the young at heart.

Benalmadena is only about 20 mins away from La Cala and is easily accessible by car, taxi or bus. Benalmadena Costa has a 9km's stretch of beach and a 2km promenade which culminates in it's fabulous marina which has been voted the best in the world. The area is a constant hive of activity both day and night housing many cosmopolitan shops and restaurants with many day and evening boat trips going out from the harbour on an hourly or daily basis to fish or just to dolphin watch and sunbathe.Slowly sail around the marina in an old Chinese Junk or take a 30 minute thrilling speed boat ride down the coast..There is also a Diving and Sea Life Centre within the harbour complex.
Set back from Benalmadena in the hills you have Benalmadena Pueblo a traditional Spanish village with authentic shops and tapas restaurants. Nearer the coast there is "Tivoli World" one of the best theme, entertainment parks on the coast which also has a huge cable car which you can travel in up to the mountains and enjoy one of the most amazing, magnificent views.

Calahonda is a 5minute drive away on the road to Marbella.There are three commercial centres here which house most of the development's 45 restaurants, cafeterias and pubs as well as seven banks, and several supermarkets.
Sports are easily incorporated into a Calahonda lifestyle. For starters, there are a total of 10 golf courses within a 10 kilometre radius of this urbanisation, which also has its own port, Cabopino. And, having its own share of coastline, puts a spotlights on a wide array of water sports as well. Tennis courts and a fitness centre.

The playgrounds of Marbella and Puerto Banus are also a short journey away Marbella is 10-15 mins away and has something for everyone it's sea front water sports centres offer jet ski-ing, sailing, cable ski-ing and balloon flights. Stroll along the golden mile and dine at some of the most sumptuous restaurants that the Mediterranean has to offer. Marbella is much more cosmopolitan than most towns on the Costa del Sol and is a place to, " people watch" for the many celebs that frequent the area; it is often compared to the likes of Monaco and Portofino.

The Glitz and glamour of Puerto Banus is between 15-20 mins away it houses the yachts and speedboats of the rich and famous. Expensive designer shops are here along with a Casino, a Commercial Shopping Centre, a Corte Ingles department store a Marine Observatory and a multi cinema with films shown with their original soundtrack.

Gibraltar is also approximately a 50 minute drive away ; a must see visit like stepping out of Spain back into England within 5 minutes!..Here you have a multitude of English High Street stores and wines, spirits, perfumes and cigarettes are duty free.When you visit Gibraltar, you will find that the people are friendly, helpful and always polite. They are very proud and if you visit on September 10th (National Day) wear red and white to help celebrate and to fit in!

The locals speak Yanito - a combination of English and Spanish with a few unique words thrown in. The majority of people will also speak fluent English or Spanish.

Mijas Costa / La Cala de Mijas area

La Cala is a charming fishing village with a new plaza which houses numerous shops, cafe's, Tapas bars, English stye sports bars and restaurants which appeal to every taste. There are numerous banks, currency exchanges and a large supermarket in the plaza. The long beach is well cared for , clean, soft and golden sand with sunbeds and parasols for rental.

There is an abundance of good quality watersports and recreational facilities in an around La Cala. Tennis club "Club del Sol" welcomes all comers as does the the lawn bowls centre at Miraflores. There are also gymnasiums, dive centres within minutes of the village.

Although the complex is on a golf course there are other numerous golf courses in the region El Chaperel,La Cala, Santana and numerous others.

The Mijas Hippodrome, ( a racetrack) is situated a few km's from La Cala which has meetings every week and includes lots of entertainment around the course. Anyone visiting Mijas will of course want to wander through the beautiful, whitewashed mountain Pueblo to enjoy the spectacular views.

There are numerous organised trips to Morocco, Gibraltar Rhonda etc available to book within the village area.

La Cala is an approx 20 minute drive from the airport. Taxi fare approx 50-60 Euros, but I can arange a pick-up by my apartment manager's if required cheaper than the taxi fares.

Car Hire firms are in abundance but we recommend www.record.com

Train from the airport to Fuengirola then a taxi fare of approx 10 Euros

The apartment was built in April 07 and is luxuriously furnished to a 5 star quality standard with marble flooring throughout.

Fully fitted intergrated kitchen with granite worktops and quality appliances. including built in dishwasher, Fridge Freezer, Cooker and hob. A coffee maker is provided along with all quality crockery , glasswear and utensils.

Separate Utility Room with extra cupboard space, sink and washing machine.

Two bedrooms one en suite with ceiling fans and built in lighted wardrobes. scatter cushions and radio alarm clocks. A safe is available in the main bedroom. Both bedrooms have ample drawer and wardrobe space and have patio doors leading on to the terrace.

The En suite Bathroom has bath bidet, vanity unit and shower and underfloor heating if required.

Bathroom 2 has a large walk in shower and underfloor heating.

Living Room is furnished to a high standard with a Chais lounge L shaped sofa, glass topped coffee table, Two drawer units, DVD Player, Plasma TV with a full UK Sky package which includes all movie and Sky sports channels.
Patio Doors with voiles and curtains leading to the balcony area.

Dining Area has marble topped table with 6 modern brown leather chairs.

All rooms have modern state of the art mirrors, lamps, ornaments and art -deco pictures.

All patio windows except for the living room (which is not in constant sunlight) are fitted with pull down shutters to keep the apartment cool while you are out and to avoid bright early morning sunlight in the bedrooms.

A cot,highchair and campbed are avaialable on request.

Further details outdoors:
The Balcony area is approx 114 metres square perfect for outdoor living and is ideal for sunbathing all day long. It is lavishly furnished with a delux 3 seater sofa, 2 chairs and sunbeds with white cushions.
Two cream parasols are also provided one is fixed to the floor and there is also a covered dining area with glass topped table and seating for 6 people. Two extra lighter weight sunbeds and two beach chairs are also provided for the balcony, beach and pool use.

There are three separate views from the balcony including stunning views of the hills and the gardens

Two secure underground car parking spaces are also available. This is a secure gated community with video entrance security and serviced by lifts with ideal disabled access. The complex has one large communual pool and a small pool for children set in beautiful gardens.

We have family members who live in the area that are able to deal with any queries or difficulties you may have.
We also are able to use the services of a property management company who will handle meet and greet an airport pick-up service (at an extra cost, cheaper than a taxi), linen, towel changes and cleaning.


Conditions

Out of respect for other visitors we request that smoking is confined to the balcony area only...(Ashtrays are provided).

Pool Towels not provided.

If using the (lightweight) apartment sunbeds at the pool it is the responsibility of the clients to return them to the apartment.
To secure a booking a non-refundable deposit of 25% of total payment is required in advance, with the balance paid 6 weeks prior to your arrival.
* Please note that the apartment(s) must be vacated by 11:00 on day of departure.
* Please note that beach towels are not provided.
* It is recommended that you take out adequate travel insurance.
* We would also require a deposit in the sum of £200 to be held in case of any accidental damage sustained which will be repaid following satisfactory key/garage fob return and apartment inspection.
This will be repaid within 14 days.
NOTE: We will NOT keep your deposit if you break a glass or anything minor. In this event we would appreciate that you inform us of this so we can arrange replacement.

* Any accident of whatever nature that occurs within the booked accommodation for whatever reason is the responsibility of the respective client, not agent or the owner.

Hi Ann,

What a holiday!! Your villa is absolutely amazing and the location is second to none! We had an excellent time and very much enjoyed La Cala. We did drive into the major touristy towns and into Gibraltar, but truly valued the less touristy feel of your location. We were very proud every morning, waking up and having breakfast on your expansive terrace whilst others ate in the shade (and I am sure were very envious).

Just a quick note, we had a great time and your apartment is fabulous, the kids loved the big telly with sky, we were very impressed how quickly Lynn sorted out the problem with the Ceiling fan, and the fitout is first class, everthing was catered for. We loved the size of your terrace with both sun and shade all day. We were so impressed with Jardines de la Norai we even viewed some property while we were there. However we would need a 3 bed apartment with the same size terrace as yours. We will keep looking.

I just wanted to let you know that we all had a wonderful time. Your
apartment was fantastic - we absolutely fell in love with it and will no
doubt be returning. We ate in the apartment for a couple of nights and really enjoyed
sitting out on your balcony in the evenings.

Hi Ann,

We have just arrived back from the airport this afternoon. Just to let you know we had a wonderful holiday, mainly due to your apartment. It was furnished to an excellent standard, very modern and everything we could have needed for our holiday. We had breakfast on the terrace, spent all day sunbathing there, had lunch in the shade and then evening drinks sat outside on the very comfortable chairs before our short walk into the (very affordable) town for something to eat; much nicer than the busier towns along the Costa Del Sol and nice to see all the locals there. We ate seafood looking onto the beach, tapas in the local Spanish Bar and lived it up on Saturday night at the Mijas Playa Restaurant and Cocktail Lounge! It was even nice to get our local North West news programmes on Sky and keep up with events at home.

It is by far the best apartment we have stayed in and much more enjoyable and comfortable than any hotel. We have never had a more relaxing holiday and would not stay anywhere else on the Costa Del Sol.

Lynn and her team transported us to and from the airport and were prompt and very helpful, Jonny who picked us up showed us the best supermarkets, got us a local taxi card and ran us into town to the supermarket on our arrival.

We will be contacting you very shortly to book a week next year for another relaxing break.
