“Great stay” Our host (representative) met us on our arrival after arranging transfers from the airport. She was not very good with English but put us onto our host).
The apartment was great, nicely done up with all the charm of an old buildign and apartment. Easy to live in for the week with 6 adults (2 couples). We thought we would cook but given the location and the pelasure of the area absolutely no need. Everything is nearby, the side streets on the way to Taksim are unreal, full of shops, cafes, bars and restaraunts. eat when and where you want. Three great cafes outside the front door, then everything esle around the corner. Walk down the hill (the walk back is a challenge)for 10 minutes and you can catch the tram (3TL approx $1.50) across the Galata Bridge and into town and up to all the attractions Blue Mosque, Grand Bazaar etc. Or just walk across the bridge to the spice bazaar.
We loved the apartment, location, Istanbul and Turkey. Would recommend the apartment to everyone. The mall/steet with the tram leading to Taksim is an absolute buzz which basically starts about 2 minutes from the apartments and the side streets must be explored, have somethign to eat and drink. Enjoy your stay.
“Pefect location to visit Istanbul” Our host was waiting at the doorstep to welcome us at arrival. The flat was in perfect shape obviously the whole house has been newly renovated. We were thoroughly introduced to all the technical details ( including washing machine and dryer and central heating and Wifi). Beyoglu ist the part of istanbul to be. The historic part of Istanbul with the Topkapi, Hagia Sofia, is 10 to 15 turkish liras by cab and can easily be made by foot on a nice day. restaurants, supermarkets, bakery, bars and cafes are all within minutes walking distance. Atatürk Airport was 45 turkish liras by cab.
