“Wow - what a view!” We would thoroughly recommend this as an ideal place to stay in the mountains. My wife, 1 year old daughter and I stayed at Arc-en-Ciel for a skiing holiday with a group of friends and their families and had a fantastic time. It is the perfect chalet for groups of friends or big families. It was always cosy and warm and had a great real log fire place too. It has plenty of space in the living area with a lovely big dining table with room for all, perfect for our group to eat, drink and socialise after a day on the slopes. The kitchen is very well equipped and we made full use of this, taking turns to cook every night. The extensive TV and video library had something for everyone as well as the games and books provided by the owners. The accommodation was fantastic including comfortable beds and good bathrooms. The 1st and 2nd floors provide the balconies with the most amazing panoramic views of the mountains opposite and the valley below. It really felt like a 360 degree view of the Alps! The slopes are within walking distance and then you can ski to the main lift in Nendaz from where you can explore the 4 vallees. It took a few attempts to negotiate the ski-in route back to the chalet from the piste but this only made it more fun! There was a good room for storing all the ski-equipment each night so it was ready for action the next day. The area around the chalet is great for the kids to sledge down and play in. The village is close by for a night out on the town and the supermarkets are easily accessible by car to stock up on essentials. There are also bars and restaurants within walking distance but we tended to stay in the chalet during the evening, playing cards, watching films and drinking wine once the kids were in bed! The property can be a little challenging to find initially (especially in the dark) but this is only because of its position to give it the amazing views, and they are worth it! A 4x4 is definitely recommended during the ski season.
