“Paradise” Ratnakara is a luxurious, large and comfortable villa. Set amongst a jungle full of monkeys and beautiful rocky bays. There is a small bay just down the driveway and the walk to the lighthouse is a must. The staff are professional, warm and very attentive to all your needs. The house dogs were friendly and our kids loved them. The pool was huge and I would do laps every morning. We enjoyed the cooking from the chef and found deciding what to eat the most difficult aspect of our day. We absolutely loved staying at this amazing villa and could not recommend it highly enough for every type of traveller. Do your self a favour and book this villa whilst in Srilanka. We are so glad we did...

“Excellent value for money” We spend 5 memorable days at Mandalay with our two kids (12 and 17yrs). There is no better place to relax after a full week of intensive travel throughout Sri Lanka. The house is nice and cosy, the pool irresistible, the garden luxuriant, the view on the countryside breathtaking and the service provided by the caretaker five stars. He cooks, takes you to the neighbourhood for shopping, sightseeing or to the nearby beaches whenever you want. Bentota beach is fanatastic. All in all, Mandalay is an excellent value for money.

“A Lovely Retreat” Lakeview is a secluded and quiet getaway from everything. With a lovely pool and stunning view, it affords guest a private location whilst being a 20 minute drive from beaches and restaurants. The villa chef is excellent and cooks wonderful Sri Lankan dishes and was as baking various treats. The garden is regularly visited by monkeys, monitor lizards and mongeese as well as a variety of birds. The villa is comfortable without being pretentious and fussy. Housekeeping is basic, rooms are only cleaned every few days but the kitchen (along with shopping and cooking) is fully taken care of by the staff. We loved our stay and relished the quiet privacy.

“Beautiful private villa away from the noisy tourist strip” My boyfriend & I stayed with Francesca & Raju for 10 days over Christmas 2013 at Dionis Villa & we had a magical stay. Unawatuna is a gorgeous spot which I had visited the year before but the main road going to the beach can be very busy & noisy especially in the peak season. Dionis Villa felt a million miles away from there in the jungle, though it was only a 7 minute walk to the action. The villa was beautifully set out, very spacious & tasteful furniture, with magnificent views from the roof tower. Francesca & Raju were caring & helpful and on hand when we needed them but left us to our own privacy. They also helped accommodated my brother & sister and their partners at their cousins nearby place, it worked out perfectly. The one improvement I can suggest is a quick spot clean every 5 days or so with fresh towels - something I'm sure they would have done for us but we didn't ask for. I would highly recommend Dionis Villa & would go back in a heartbeat - thanks guys!!

“Blew my mind - Far beyond expectations.” I cannot recommend this villa enough! I travelled in a group of 8 - ages between 14 - 83 years old and it accommodated it us all amazing. Whether you wanted to laze by the pool and take in the view - and eat the amazing meals cooked my the chef - or you could easily enough get a tuk tuk down to town to spend the day by the beach... The photos just do not do this place justice. The owners and staff go above and beyond to help and make your stay as wonderful as possible. I hope one day to return and will recommend it to everyone! Thank you so much for such an incredible first experience in Unawatuna.

“Perfect place in Sri Lanka to enjoy the beach, people and cultur” My husband and I travelled through Sri Lanka for a couple weeks, then off to Maldives for a week and were looking for a spot to unwind back in Sri Lanka to wrap up our holiday, this place was perfect. The house is simple but has everything you need (including a washing machine - which we weren't expecting, but was a great treat after travelling for several weeks). Right from the initial booking, Gavin was responsive and the transaction was easy. The staff at the house arranged a driver from/to the airport (about 3 hours) which worked great, stopped to pick up beers for the ride :). Mahinda greeted us and visited a couple times to ensure we had everything we needed. The house staff on site were always busy cleaning the yard, house other accomodations. The security guard overnight was really smiley as well. Mahinda's brother made us a lovely seafood bbq on the beach in our backyard and it was amazing! If we come back to Sri Lanka, we will definitely come back to this house!

“Amazing stay with lovely and very kind people!” The location first of all is amazing for a couple or friends wanting to get away from the city. It is the perfect combination of beach, sea, and jungle all made even more relaxing with the people present there to welcome and serve you. Our servant Lakmal was one of the most polite and generous Sri Lankans that we met on our trip, and always eager to help in any way possible. The mansion was always clean, if you don't mind the occasional lizard in your bathroom, but that's always expected when traveling to a place like Sri Lanka :) Overall we were very happy and satisfied with our experience in the Tangalle Mansion and would definitely go back there again if we were to pass by to Tangalle.
