My partner, myself and my 16 year old neice stayed in Villa Europa for two weeks. Elena (who looks after all three villas) met us at the airport which was a lovely idea and makes for a relaxing start to your holiday, not having to worry about directions. All three villas have been finished to an excellent standard; including lovely large shower cubicles, frequent changes of linen, even a film channel on the flat screen TVs. The beds are the most comfortable rental beds we have ever had, as are the sofas. Throughout the whole two weeks, despite having her hand in plaster, Elena catered for our every need (and more). Elena and Yiannis who owns the villas really do want you to enjoy your time in Skiathos. The views are stunning, especially at night when Skopelos twinkles in the distance. We intend to return next year, which is something we have never done before. All three villas are excellent! …
Lovely relaxing holiday
Have just returned from a lovely holiday at villa aquarius. From the outset everything went smoothly. Any questions I needed to ask were responded to quickly from the owner Nikos. On arrival in Troulos we gave Nikos a quick call and within a couple of minutes he had met us by the shops to escort us up to the villa. He showed us around and had even supplied us with a welcome pack which included a bottle of wine, couple of beers, couple of colas, milk, bread, eggs, ham and cheese. Unexpected but gratefully received. We did not have much need to call on Nikos while we were there but if he saw us as we passed he would always stop and chat and on one occasion when he saw that I had just returned from a walk up the mountain he told me that he had some mountain bikes that we could use if we wished.
I would say that the use of a hire car would be a great advantage as walking up the hill each day could become tiresome (5 minute brisk walk or nearer to 10 mins at a leisurely pace) and if you were to do it in the dark then you would definitely need a torch. We were very lucky with the weather and it was lovely to have breakfast on the large patio outside. As we were only a party of 5 we did not have access to the downstairs accommodation but this did not hinder us too much. There was always plenty of hot water for showers when getting ready to go out of an evening.
We would definitely stay here again if visiting Skiathos in a large group. …
An oasis in the island of cool
We stayed at zorbathes in the summer of 2012 - a family of 4 with two boys 6 and 10.
The island has something for everybody - from the party beaches on one coast to secluded cast away coves on the other. The beaches are fantastic whatever flavor you want. Some great restaurants with amazing views and history you can touch in the monasteries and old fort - we had some really memorable walks out to these places and through the cool pine forests and over baked cliffs.
The best thing about this holiday, however, was Geoff and his wife and their first class villa and pool. The kids absolutely loved the pool and many an early morning and lazy afternoon was spent splashing around here with the adults reading books and taking the occasional dip. The villa is really first class in terms of layout and cleanliness.
Geoff and Lida are so accommodating - Geoff greets you at the airport and sorts the car hire - basic provisions, water, wine, home-made honey, jam in the villa on arrival and fresh home grown veg provided from time to time throughout our stay.
Equidistant from each coast this is the perfect place from which to explore the island.
The best thing though is the quality of the accommodation and the proprietors.
Thanks for a great holiday - highly recommended. …
