Getting around

Getting around is very easy. There are trains and buses that connect East and West. If you want to explore the region then it is very easy by public transport. It is also easy to hire a car at Nice airport. There is a new and excellent car hire centre next to Terminal 2, a short walk. Al of the major car rental companies are at the car hire centre.

Interaction with guest

I am available by email, mobile and whatsapp. I am happy to answer any questions that you have. We have an information sheet that I can send to you. We will post the keys to you from the UK and will need you to send them back at the end of your stay (when you get back home is fine). We have a local cleaner who lives in Nice.

House rules

This apartment is for all ages however it should be noted that there are 42 steps up to the apartment so if you have difficulty with stairs then this apartment is not for you. One quickly gets used to the stairs and they are a good way of exercising off the alcohol and extra holiday calories!

Although we do not allow smoking in the apartment there is a balcony where smoking is permitted and we supply an ashtray for smoking on the balcony.

“Holiday apartment review”

Reviewed 3 Jul 2017

Stayed here for eleven days in june. Perfectly central for everything.no need for a car. Trains busses all within easy walking distance. We walked everywhere. Did about sixty miles during our stay. Apartment has everything you need. Don't forget to bring hairdryer. Aircon was a blessing. Nice and quiet. We slept like babies. It was perfect for us.would definitely return. Thank you frazer.

“A great holiday location in itself but also a great launching pad to explore Riviera”

Reviewed 23 Jun 2016

Villefranche-sur-Mer is both charming and more tucked away than busier Nice and Monte Carlo. The flat is close to shops, beach and, above all, the railway station. I discovered that (at least in mid-June) there's free (near-Citadel) parking for a person with a car. During our stay the village was not overrun with tourists so there was a sense of real discovery both within the village and on the day-trips taken to places like Nice, St Paul de Vence and Grasse. A more-than-decent selection of dvds awaited us in the flat each evening. We had all the amenities needed to have breakfast before heading off each day. Because we were on holidays we didn't want to cook in the evenings and the restaurants in Villefranche held up for 4 nights in row without any disappointments. The Flat had aircon but we barely needed it. The clothes washing machine did get used once- a blessing. Close enough to 2 good beaches to start/end each day with a swim in the sea.

Owner's reply: I'm really pleased you enjoyed your stay. We have built up the DVD collection over 14 years and take DVDs every time we go. There are probably 200+ films.

“Fantastic Location”

Reviewed 31 Jul 2014

This is our second visit to Villefranche and we plan to go again. The owner was exceptionally easy and professional to deal with in making the booking and during and after our two week stay. This was one of six apartments we used this visit to France and it was certainly amongst the best. The apartment contained everything we needed, was very comfortable and you could'nt find a better location in Villefranche, just a few steps from shops and restaurants, in particular a small boulangerie which opens early for fresh baguettes. Villefranche itself is central to all attractions from Cannes to Menton and provides quick access to village such as St Paul de Vence, Eze and La Turbie. We would not hesitate to stay in this apartment again. It offers exceptional value for this location.

“Lovely apartment in a beautiful town.”

Reviewed 17 Jun 2014

This apartment is lovely and full of authentic charm. It was great to eat breakfast on the balcony and watch the street below. We were a bit daunted at first as there are quite a lot of stairs up to the apartment, but we soon got used to them. This may make the apartment unsuitable for those with young children or mobility problems. Having said that, it was a lovely and comfortable base for our holiday on the French Riviera. Everything that you could need (shops, restaurants, beach) is very close and it's only a 10 minute walk to the station. The apartment had everything we needed (including a washing machine) and there is a great selection of DVDs if you fancy staying in! It was unseasonably hot during our stay so having air conditioning in the apartment was great. The owners have also included lots of information and guides about the local area which was a really lovely touch.

“Great location - easy access to waterfront, town, and train”

Reviewed 4 Mar 2014

The flat is just a few metres away from waterfront restaurants and shops, and a 10 minute walk to the train station and the town. The accommodation is perfect for a family or two couples to share with two bedrooms, separate kitchen, and washing machine. Great value even during high season.
