Pura Vida is an inviting home located in Esperanza, the quaint fishing town of Vieques as well as the most popular tourist area. The three bedroom, one bath house is located in a safe neighborhood, only 1 block, or less than a 5 minute walk, to the Malecon.

We are now 100% Air Conditioned at Pura Vida. All 3 bedrooms as well as the main living space have air conditioning.

There is a lack of rental cars on Vieques, and if not reserved ahead of time, they may all be sold out. Avoid being left without a car to explore Vieques. Our SUV has three rows of seats holding 8 passengers. If you are a larger group staying at Pura Vida, an 8 passenger SUV negates the need to rent two vehicles, you can everyone fit in one SUV, thus saving you money on both rental fees, gas etc.

We are baby and child friendly! We had our first child in November of 2007, our second in January 2010. We enjoy bringing them to the island and they love Media Lunas gentle waves and shallow beach. At Pura Vida we have a Pack N Play crib, child booster seat for feeding (works well instead of high chair), and two convertible car seats for our Jeep, capable of forward and rear facing. We also have a bunch of beach toys, child snorkel gear, books, games and puzzles to keep kids entertained. That is if they aren't worn out after a long day at the beach. We are happy to provide these child amenities to our guests free of charge, pending no abnormal damage to them. We also have a TV, DVD player, vast library of adult and children DVDs and a Playstation 2 with games for you to enjoy.

Although we offer a SUV, our convenient location allows one to easily enjoy much of what Vieques has to offer without driving. Stroll to dinner and dine overlooking the Caribbean, grab a drink at one of the oceanfront bars, spend the day at the park, or experience the beauty (and nightlife) of Esperanza Beach and the Malecon, all within walking distance.

NIce rental home, in a nice small town.

We felt safe on this quite street. The auto rental was a bonus to get us all (6) out and about. It was our first visit to Veiques and this was a nice place to get acquainted.

Thank you Chrissy for the honest review and kind words about Pura Vida. We agree, one of our many benefits of Pura Vida is our location. If you are in a group of people and some want to walk to dinner or drinks (or stumble home early), it is easy to do so since we are so close to the Malecon. However, we are in somewhat of a secluded street so you do not get much traffic or noise from the Malecon. Practice the 2 medalla rule at the beach, every 2 Medalla apply SPF50

Why can't I call Jeff (the owner) before booking?

How do damage deposits work?

In most cases, you don’t pay a damage deposit up front. Instead, we save your payment details securely and you’re only charged in the event of damage to the property.

Occasionally, you will pay a damage deposit up front as part of the total rental cost. In this case, the owner has 10 days after you check out to report any damage. If they don’t, we’ll return your deposit. If their claim is successful, we’ll deduct the agreed cost and return the remainder.

How can I retract my booking request?

You’ll need to contact Jeff (the owner) to do this. Send them a message in Manage your holiday booking or through the contact form on this page.

How do I cancel my booking?

Go to Manage your holiday booking to cancel your booking. Here you can view your cancellation policy to see if you’ll be refunded.

How do I edit my booking?

You can request to change the dates or number of people on your booking via the Manage your holiday booking page. To change your holiday dates use the Edit booking button. If you need to change the number of guests staying then send Jeff (the owner) a message.

If Jeff (the owner) agrees, they’ll send you a revised quote outlining the changes. You can review and accept/decline this from the Manage your holiday booking page. You’ll have 48 hours to take action before the revised quote expires.
