Imagine a holiday resort with endless and uncrowded beaches, a place where you can enjoy true tranqulity whilst absorbing unspoilt Spanish charm, a location where families thrive in the sunshine and unhurried pace of life - a place where relaxation is the cultural philosophy for a good life ..... this region of Andalucia offers it all and more .... welcome to Andalusdreams and Vera Playa. This resort is a well kept 'sunshine kissed' secret, a truly charming and traditional Andalucian beach resort, which is perfect for families and couples alike. Definitely not a location for stag parties and boisterous holidays!!
This is a holiday for people who want to get away from hectic life, delight in enjoying tapas and immersing in authentic culture, strolling along with your loved one or playing with the kids on the golden Blue flag awarded beaches, trekking out in the hills or covering endless untroubled miles on a bike or touring round the natural park in the Cabo De Gata
This is where the word 'stress' in non-existant ... this is where you will find inner peace!!For the more discerning holiday maker we present an impressive luxury family apartment, situated on an enclosed and more private child-friendly complex (Andalus Hills). Superbly located within close proximity to the beaches and resort facilities, our apartment is designed in a traditional Andalucian style with wonderful brick work columns, whitewashed facades, wooden beams and decorative tiles.
Every effort has been made to make this complex stand out from all the rest ..... and it does not disappoint!High levels of complimentary feedback from our satisfied guests! See our reviews page. Our holiday home has easy ground floor access, has 2 full bathrooms (one en-suite), a large private enclosed 'al-fresco' dining terraced area and benefits from a view out on to beautiful landscaped gardens planted with palm trees (no road noise here!). Fitted out to high standards with everything you would expect for a relaxing self catering holiday.
There is a superb large outdoor pool with small kiddies pool and children's play areas directly opposite. Satellite tv and DVD player. . An acclimatised indoor pool provides for out of season activity. Private secure parking space (within urbanisation). Our rates both reflect the quality of accommodation on offer and location.
We can accommodate a total of 6 persons if including a small child in the travel cot provided. 1 x double bed with en-suite, 1 x twin bedroom, 1 x pull-out single sofa bed, and 1 x travel cot. As with most modern coastal resorts Vera Playa offers good facilities including bars, restaurants, supermarkets and adequate public transport options. For more options you can walk north from Vera Playa to the small harbour village of Villaricos or south to the larger fishing town of Garrucha, which has excellent facilities and dining options. For a more cosmopolitan resort feel travel to nearby Mojacar Playa - its all here and so very diverse!Blue flag beaches & water park 3 mins drive. Vera Town 5 mins. On the local bus route to Vera Town and Mojacar Playa. Traditional open air markets / restaurants / bars / modern supermarkets / Go-kart circuit / Golf. Great cycling and fishing territory too!PLEASE NOTE: Our charges are inclusive of a service element for cleaning and linen / towel provision.

The Andalucia region
Experience a less hectic part of Spain with a holiday to the Costa de Almeria. Desert landscapes and villages untouched by time are the norm here. The Costa de Almeria is tucked into Spain's south east corner and is far less of a tourist location than its high-rise neighbours. You'll find quiet resorts, traditional white-washed villages and beaches untouched by the holiday making masses. Sheltered from the tourist boom that hit the rest of the Costas in the 1960s, the Costa de Almeria has now become a unique stretch of Spanish coast, with white facade buildings blending in to the hill side instead of high-rise hotels and some of the most relaxed, least populated beaches in Spain.
Sandwiched between the mountains and Mediterranean, all the coast's resorts enjoy spectacular settings, as well as the longest, driest and hottest summers in the country. When it comes to days out, the Costa de Almeria has no end of attractions. Just down the coast is the port city of Almeria, where you'll find tree-lined boulevards and chic boutiques, all watched over by an Arab fortress. This modern city boasts some impressive and strange sights – the fortified Cathedral and the 'cave quarter', the Barrio de la Chanca, are not things you'd find in every city. Set beneath a mountain, Almeria is overlooked by the Moorish fortress that offers fantastic views across the town and out to sea. Wildlife fans should head for one of the area's natural parks – Cabo de Gata is one of the best. Granada, home to the impressive Alhambra Palace, is just a couple of hours away, too.You have access to a wealth of Blue Flag awarded beaches close to hand. Travel inland and the scenery may begin to look familiar. The mountains that dominate the landscape and the almost lunar-like expanses of the Tabernas Desert have appeared in many films, including the spaghetti westerns, Lawrence of Arabia and Indiana Jones.
A truly diverse part of Spain for the more discerning holiday maker!
Vera Playa is a relatively new resort, which only started to be developed in the 1980s, before which it was pretty much untouched. Legend has it that this is where Hannibal's elephants landed in the Roman age. It is located on the Costa Almeria in Andalusia - at approximately the same latitude as the most northerly parts of Africa. It is hailed as the world's best natural beach resort.Vera is divided in two different areas, Vera town located inland, five kilometers from the coast and Vera Playa placed next to the seashore. In Vera pueblo, you will find the city business centre; there are banks, supermarkets, shops and even a bull ring. on Saturdays the town hosts a large outdoor open market supporting a vast array of products for sale at cheap prices.Vera Playa is a wholly family friendly resort, which boasts a natural beach (Blue Flag) that is nearly ten-kilometres long and has easy access. There are plenty of beach bars and also popular VIP clubs and Club houses, such as Chumbo, Lua Club and BBME beach club. All of them are located on the beach.
There are also beach bars for eating the typical Andalusian “pescaito frito” and drinking Spanish beer “cañas”.Vera Playa hosts different water sports - kite surfing, windsurfing, sailing, etc. There are different water activities children will enjoy snorkeling or surfing. In addition, you and your family will be able to spend a enjoyable day in Parque Acuático Vera, just 3 minutes away in the car. Golf, fishing, cycling, horse riding and even a great outdoor Go-Kart track are all here.Amenities in the resort include a modern supermarket, bars / restaurants, tourist shops and even a small night time market (summer time). A bus route runs past Andalus Hill which gives cheap access to Vera Town, Garrucha and Mojacar.

The apartment is of a very high standard. Certainly excellent value for money. In terms of equipment, it had everything we required. The complex is very clean as is the pool which is very handy for the apartment. No worries about jostling for sunbeds round the pool. Just take your own and there's plenty of shade. A car is essential to enjoy the best restaurants in the area. Not a great deal of choice within walking distance. The beach is a fair walk too tho lovely once there! We struggled to find a variety of places to keep our 7 year old entertained tho she loved Aqua Park which we would highly recommend. Very clean and well run. Overall a lovely relaxing holiday.
We appreciate the time taken to review. Vera Playa is a small and low key family orientated resort that lends itself to a more relaxing holiday. There are however over 20 bars and restaurants locally, which cater for most tastes. A little surprised that you felt there was little to do for a 7 years old child ... the water park is just 3 minutes away, Go-Karting 10 mins, there is a large pool on site and of course a play area (swings) directly opposite the apartment (not forgetting the endless beaches to play on). We always recommend a hire car to make the most of the area and to access the Mini Hollywood and Oaysis theme parks. This is a self catering holiday for families and couples who like to make their own fun and entertainment.

"great apartment, great facilities (especially the pools) and great places to eat"
We have been to the Andalus apartment twice now and have thoroughly enjoyed our stays both times, one visit as and couple with no children and our last visit with our child and friends. The apartment is very clean and has all the facilities of a normal household including sky, barbecue, very comfy beds and bedding (more like a home away from home) . The pool areas are always clean and tidy and found it especially useful that there's a baby pool for our daughter and an indoor pool which has very little use due to the weather but is there just in case. As for eating there are loads of places a short walk away, all of which were very good especially los angel-es. There is also a consum very close by which is the local supermarket, the store sells everything you need including alcoholic drinks which are a fraction of the price you would pay in the UK and all as good if not better. There are also many different places and city's very close by with loads to do and a water park literally a stones throw away. This is a great place which offers everything you want from a holiday if not more and we will definitely be back soon :)
Another encouraging review. Thank you very much for your comments.
