THE HOUSE

"Pithari" is a fully renovated traditional stone house with a large patio with beautiful views and a lock up garage. Perfect for families, groups of friends or couples. It has central heating and air conditioning in the living area, making it the perfect base year-round for exploring this beautiful island with beaches, hiking, bird-watching, ancient sites and much more! "Pithari" is within easy reach of some of the major tourist spots and best beaches of this beautiful island.

The fully equipped two-storey semi-detached house can comfortably accommodate 5 people (please enquire for additional persons, up to 7) and lends itself to year-round holidays.There are three bedrooms, two double and one single and two bathrooms. The French doors lead out to a wonderful large stone-paved terrace with a day bed and dining set.

The house has central heating and has air conditioning in the living area on the ground floor. Elegant column fans in all the bedrooms help to keep you cool on the hottest days; there is AC in the living area.

NOTE: Wi-Fi access is available; however, despite subscribing to the best package available, the connection speed at the village is not great so streaming video etc. will not be as fast as you might expect. The nearby local café also offers free Wi-Fi all year round.

ABOUT THE VILLAGE

Skalohori is a traditional settlement of stone houses on a slope overlooking the sea. The nearest beach, Kalo Limani is only 5km away and there is a new road leading to the beach where you will find one of the best tavernas by the water's edge and a cafe.

Skalohori is a charming village very close to the major tourist spots of Petra and Molyvos so you can easily spend your days exploring and come back for sunset drinks on the patio. A massive ancient plane tree shades the main village square where the locals gather day and night.There is a bakery and a few shops for your basic needs; you can also buy fresh, seasonal produce outside your door from the farmers going past in the morning. The village is also a 15-minute drive from Kalloni, a major regional centre with supermarkets, banks, internet cafes and all services. In order to enjoy your stay at the house and the island, it is highly recommended that you have a car, which can be rented from several rental car agencies in downtown Mytilini or the airport.

THE LOCAL AREA

Although it is a village built on a gently rolling mountain slope, Skalohori is situated within a 20-30 min drive of some of the most beautiful beaches on the north-western side of the island of Lesvos; its rural setting makes it perfect for nature walks and it is ideally located for excursions and day trips to the popular resort villages of Petra, Molyvos and Eressos. For bird-watching enthusiasts, the village is very conveniently situated within easy reach of the salt-pans and wetland areas of Kalloni and other popular bird-watching spots. A must-see for visitors to Lesvos is the Petrified Forest and the Museum of Natural History in Sigri. The geo-park there is approximately a 45 minute drive from the village through some of the most dramatic landscape of the island.Apart from the beaches, the fantastic local produce and its famous traditional cuisine, the tavernas by the sea, the evocative landscapes and historical sites, the island of Lesvos offers the visitor a variety of interesting activities and is truly a destination for all seasons; the village of Skalohori offers you the perfect base for exploring the island.

How do damage deposits work?

If Penelope (the owner) agrees, they’ll send you a revised quote outlining the changes. You can review and accept/decline this from the Manage your holiday booking page. You’ll have 48 hours to take action before the revised quote expires.
