“Look no further - Ambient perfection!”

Reviewed 7 Apr 2016

This was a perfect break away for us. Tranquil, tropical rainforest location with the ocean just beyond. Tall ferns, palms and tropical flowers envelop the home. The deck has a comfortable daybed where we spent quite a bit of time just relaxing and reading. The home itself is decorated in a lovely tropical style and has everything you will want on your break, every details has been thought out, fresh flowers, books and relaxing music. It is also spotlessly clean. Roy and Lisa are awesome hosts. This was our home away from home in paradise. We absolutely recommend this place for a short or long stay. We will be back!

“Great getaway!”

Reviewed 2 Nov 2015

This is great place for anyone wanting to get away to a quiet, comfortable place. The home was beautiful, clean, everything you would need to enjoy a home away from home. The hosts were friendly, accommodating, and I wouldn't hesitate to go again. Thank you Roy, and Lisa! Daronne

“What a fabulous place!”

Reviewed 10 Oct 2015

The cottage is surrounded by a beautiful garden, and the beach is a short walk away. The cottage was immaculate, and has everything you could want on holiday including a washing machine and dryer, every utensil imaginable, and even a BBQ on the deck. We hired a car, and this made travelling into town easy, although there are buses and plenty of taxis. Sitting on the deck and watching the birds in the tropical garden was a highlight of our trip. Roy and Lisa were wonderful hosts, attentive but not intrusive, and I highly recommend staying here.

“Great Rental at Savusavu”

Reviewed 29 Jul 2015

Third visit in as many years should say it all. 9 year old grandson preferred it to the big resort we stayed at for a few nights before - he loved going to the local villages, playing table tennis, the walks , beaches and of course Vatu the wonder dog. The cottage has always been immaculately clean on arrival. Improvements from last visit include the new Californian King bed (great nights sleep) , AC in bedroom, BBQ, day bed on verandah (great views of forest and sea in the distance, very relaxing) and new washing machine. Roy and Lisa are always helpful with local advice and helping out with the little things like pumping up a flat tyre on the rental car. Great value for money and highly recommended.

“This is one of Savusavu's gems”

Reviewed 26 May 2015

Roy and Lisa could not have been more helpful. They went the extra mile to make sure we were comfortable and organized. Their property is absolutely beautiful & peaceful as well as immaculate. It is set in a rainforest with beach views. It was so lovely to sit on the deck of the cottage and listen to the sounds of nature & enjoy their garden. They have everything a visitor could need, not only the little things you forgot to pack, like an extra sarong, but also interesting reading material and great music. They have strong connections with the locals so can organize unique experiences of Savusavu for you (an Indian cooking lesson for me and an incredibly hospitable church service in a nearby village) Our hosts even treated us to a kava ceremony in their home...The cottage has a very comfortable king sized bed, a new washing machine and they have their own well. After learning the hard way that dark water is prevalent in Savusavu (turned my white clothes muddy) their well water was a welcome change. This pure water is drinkable too so we didn't have to take a stock of bottled water there. We would highly recommend this accommodation. We loved it.

“Wonderful week in paradise”

Reviewed 1 Apr 2015

We stayed for almost a week in this beautiful cottage. We especially enjoyed the very warm welcome and the continous attention to detail that the hosts showed. The afternoons were spend on the timber deck of the cottage, which overlooks the colorful, greatly looked after gardens and every day we would discover more flowers, plants and birds just by sitting back and watching. The cottage itself has everything one can think off, absolutely nothing we could have needed was missing. The property is far enough from town to feel away from things and have some quiet time and nature but close enough to be able to quickly drive down to go for a walk in cute Savusavu. It´s never boring and there is heaps to do every day if one wants. The hosts with their local knowledge give you great advice on how to spend your day. We would definetely come back to this place as it has the right balance between action and relaxing and nothing beats Roy and Lisa

“A HOME AWAY FROM HOME........IN PARADISE”

Reviewed 29 Sep 2014

Located 17 klicks from Savsavu town, in a tropical rainforest environment and a ten minute walk to a deserted beach Sakawa holiday cottage is everything you would want to relax in the real Fiji. The house is located in lovely gardens and fully equiped, and I mean fully, to allow you to chill out. There are heaps of things to do, fishing, diving, hiking, a lovely waterfall, breathtaking scenery through the mountains to Labasa (a 1.5 hour trip, little more by bus) or on the eastern side of the island a road that runs through plantation after plantation with crystal clear aqua water and the deep blue of the ocean and reef. The hosts Roy and Lisa are old time residents and have contacts everywhere which is a real help when you want a cheap taxi or the best place to eat or buy food or go market shopping. Transport to and from Savusavu is by plane from Nadi International, Suva International or ferry (overnight from Natovi direct or daily from Natovi to Nabawalu and a 2.5 hr bus trip to Savusavu. You can also get an overnight ferry from Lautoka to Labasa and again a 2 hour bus trip to Savusavu. This is the way the world was meant to be and the town motto is just so true. Evergreen, Everclean. Enjoy, we did.

“This is the place to relax and rejuvinate.”

Trip of a lifetime. The beauty and traquillity at the Sekawa Beach Cottages is The Place. The cottage is well appointed and has a cooks kitchen with all the necessities. The cottage has a view of the magnificent nature that is Fiji's calling card. Sitting out on the deck looking down at the ocean below was our favorite past time. The grounds and Cottage are clean as a ribbon inside and out. Can't wait to go back.

“So much want to be back there.”

Reviewed 8 Feb 2014

This cottage is in reality no less beautiful than on the photographs; it's clean and spacious and feels comfortable and agreeable from the first to the last moment. The immediate surroundings are incredibly beautiful: a garden with tropical trees and flowers, surrounded by the abundance of vegetation and sounds of the jungle. Add a glimpse of the blue ocean in the distance. Bring binoculars to watch birds. If you enjoy sitting on the lanai, you may want to have mosquito repellent available. The owners, a truly friendly American couple, don't seem to need it anymore. We enjoyed trying their sea kayak. The few local people you may find on the beach immediately started helping when they saw us dragging it to the water. Later offered juice from coconuts they were opening for their lunch. You could stay at this place without a car. We didn't feel a need for sightseing anymore. Would have tried to book for longer than ten days had we known how beautiful it is. If we ever come back to Fiji we'll look for this place first.

“A confortable haven in the midst of a lush rainforest”

Reviewed 8 Jan 2014

This eco-friendly cottage is a home away from home, with all the amenities for a confortable stay in the midst of the forest: a well appointed kitchen, a nice bathroom with laundry facilities (washing machine and dryer), TV with DVD player and surround sound, airconditioning in bedroom, ceiling fans. The rooms are large and the verandah is charming. The cottage is located some 800 metres from a beach which is a paradise for fishermen, and close to Savusavu. There is a bus, but a private vehicle would be an advantage. Roy and Lisa were wonderful hosts. They provided us with snorkelling equipment, fishing lines and excellend movies to watch in the evening. The cottage is also full of very nice books. Roy performed for us a kava ceremony and Lisa brought fragrant gardenias and other flowers to the cottage, all collected from their excellently maintained property. We would definitely recommend this cottage to anyone who wishes to stay in Vanua Levu
