Upstairs - two bedrooms (there are some 17 steps up to the bedrooms/bathroom).

Master bedroom with KING SIZE bed (also with flat-screen LCD TV) and second bedroom with twin single beds. The bedrooms share a country-style bathroom. Dorma windows in each bedroom overlook the secluded heritage gardens of the property.

Fine bed linens, selection of pillows, bathroom amenities all provided.

Room servicing for the Gate Cottage is included mid-stay for stays of 7 days or more. For stays less than 7 days, room servicing is available (at extra cost) on request.

There are no laundry facilities/washing machine in this cottage or at Glen Isla House. A coin laundrette is available in the town 3 minutes drive away.

Climate controlled. Reverse-cycle heating-cooling air-conditioning in all rooms. There is a hotel-style personal combination safe in the master bedroom.

A pristine sandy beach is just 120 metres from the back gate (direct access to the beach). Relax in the 2 acres of very private heritage gardens. There's shady trees, secluded corners and sun-drenched lawns. It's another world at Glen Isla House.

Wildlife experiences such as the Little Penguins (Penguin Parade), Koalas and seal watching cruises are nearby. We recommend advance bookings fo all these expereinces at the Phillip Island Nature parks web site.

Glen Isla has been awarded the TripAdvisor Excellence Award with 5 stars in 2011, 2012, 2013, 2014, 2015 and 2016 (six years running). Glen Isla also received the Travellers' Choice Award in 2016.

Glen Isla House (and the Gate Cottage at Glen Isla House) are fully accredited and registered with the local council as a prescribed accommodation property. This means the local authorities conduct regular inspections of the property to ensure it meets their standard in terms of cleanliness and fitness for purpose as an accommodation rental property. Phillip Island is world famous for its wildlife experiences - in particular the nightly Penguin Parade for the Little Penguins. The Phillip Island Nature Parks - a not for profit organisation that manages wildlife on Phillip Island. We recommend you purchase tickets in advance to see the Penguins online at the website of the Phillip Island Nature Parks.

Just 170k from Melbourne and accessible by permanent bridge (drive on/off), this nature island abounds with things to see and do, including Koalas, seal watching cruises, bird-watching, safe swimming beaches amd world-class surf beaches.

The main township of Cowes offers shops and restaurants, and is a 20 minute stroll from Glen Isla (either along the sandy beach or by road).

House rules

The property is unsuitable for younger children/infants. There is a large unfenced fish pond & three historic wells in the grounds. We welcome children 12 years & older (staying with adult parents).

Minimum age for booking is 21 years of age. We do not accept bookings for party groups such as 'hens parties' or 'stag parties' or end of school year "Schoolies" bookings.

Maximum occupancy is strictly 4 persons in accord with our insurances, and accommodation license with the local authorities.
