Matting is a quiet village on the shore of the most beautiful river in Europe. Manuel's place is just to the side of the wood-panelled house where Manuel lives. At the foot of his road flows the Danube, with good walks and cycle path. In the village there is a small friendly local restaurant with simple good food and good wine. The pear schnapps is also excellent!

Amazing location a few feet from the Danube! Lots of charm and off the beaten path but not by too far off. If you want to hang with the locals, this is the place. We got lost getting there and Manuel came to find us!! 2 bicycles available for your use.

Easily the best experience I have ever had with an Airbnb, and I've stayed in a whole bunch of them, in a wide variety of countries. Beautiful old cottage, extremely easy to find, super clean, with everything you need for a short trip or a longer one (basics like olive oil, salt, bath towels, books and games, two bikes, tons of info about things to do in the area, including a lovely little collection of newspaper articles about the town and the region including a few English articles). We were there in summer and enjoyed the private outdoor patio, but the wintergarten is probably also delightful in winter. 30 second walk to the Danube and a lovely little beach. Easy biking or walking distance to little towns, restaurants, grocery stores, Regensburg, all along the river. Probably also excellent, easily accessible hiking, but we didn't have time unfortunately. And Manuel was super kind, welcoming, and full of great tips (and very understanding when our arrival time got a bit messed up). We were totally charmed and plan to return. If you're looking for a beautiful, relaxing place to soak up nature just a few minutes south of Regensburg (cute college town if you want a bit of city).

Alles wie erhofft und erwartet! Erholung in schöner Atmosphäre mit netten Gastgebern. Am Morgen joggen, z.B. hoch zum Jura-Steig, anschließend zum Baden in die Donau. Radtouren in die Natur oder nach Regensburg in die Altstadt. Für meinen Freund und mich wie letztes Jahr, Genuss pur!
