The Calabria region
This is a relatively small coastal village within ten minute drive from the ancient village of Nocera Terinese.
In addition to a long sandy / shingled beach there is a backdrop of beautiful mountains.
The village is well served with restaurants, bars and coffee shops .
Bakeries ,butchers shops ,and vegetable shops are scattered throughout the village.
One large supermarket is adjacent to the complex, and other smaller supermarkets are a few minutes walk away.
There are a number of hairdressers shops and even a gym.
The character of the resort is small and friendly, and the people make every effort to welcome tourists.
Within a short drive you can explore the old towns of Falerna !Gizzaria, Nocera, Amantea Cleto Belmonte and off the autostrada tSt Mango ,Grimaldi and many more.
The views over the Tyrrhenian Sea are worth a trip to the hills.
Walkers will appreciate the forested area near Falerna, and if you like mushrooming in Autumn you will be rewarded.
A wonderful area for a painting holiday,or photography.
In the season trips to the volcanic island of Stromboli depart from Amantea and Vibo Marina.
Marina di Nocera Terinese
The Calabrian coastline offers spectacular scenery .
From Nocera you can be in Tropea in less than an hour.
An hour and forty minutes will take you to Reggio city and from there a short ferry ride will bring you to Sicily.
Going north you will enjoy the old town of Paola with its monastery to st.Francesco.
Further north Belvedere Diamanté and many other treasures wait to be discovered.
There is a local train station which has a limited service and to go further by train you can go to Amantea or Lamezia.
This area is famous for production of fruit and vegetables, and there are many local markets where these can be bought cheaply.
In July and August the resort comes to life, but the lifestyle is mostly family orientated and friendly.
Restaurants serve mainly seafood, but you will have other options on menus. Generally eating and drinking out is cheap.
Nightlife is mainly in bars and cafes In summer there is usually entertainment on the promenade.
If you are interested in archeology, this region is rich in Greco Roman sites.

"Wonderful location for small children and one of the friendliest places we have ever visited"
We stayed here for 12 days in July and early August and had a fantastic time. The beach is a 10 minute walk away and is one of the nicest along that stretch of coast (there are a number of other local beaches within a short drive). It was ideal for small children and our girls made lots of friends via the international language of building sandcastles (and learned a few words of Italian along the way). The apartment was air conditioned and had a well equipped kitchen and dining area with a small balcony where we ate our croissants every morning and listened to the birds singing. There is a supermarket, small bakery/gelateria, two playgrounds, spotless swimming pool in an adjacent holiday complex and a number of lovely local restaurants all within 5 minutes walk from the apartment. We also rented the identical sister apartment just across the corridor which allowed extended family to stay at the same time. The people we met here were some of the warmest and friendliest I have ever encountered and it felt very safe for small children. All in all we would highly recommend this as a family holiday destination.
