Upper Donside Planter's Bungalow located 4 kms from the Nawalapitiya town on Harangala Road (Kotmale Road), amidst a secluded tea plantation, surrounded by a large area of jungle forest. Built by a British planter during the colonial era, it is definitely an ideal hide out / retreat.
It is fully furnished with 4 large bedrooms, 3 toilets, a large living room, dining room, kitchen, pantry, drivers quarters, etc. It also has electricity, hot water and natural spring water. Have a in house caretaker and cook to prepare meals to your liking but the dry rations needs to be provided. Bed linen and towels are also provided.
The bungalow is located in a breathtaking panoramic view of the mountains is a great spot for nature lovers, jungle tracking, mountain biking or just relaxing. It is also a nice location for bird watchers, where some of the guests have spotted rare native bird species.
Distance to Kotmale Dam – ½ hr., Kandy – 1 hr., Nuwara Eliya – 1.5 hrs. You could also visit natural bathing spots, Kadeyanlena ella and Galboda ella not known to many but magnificent water falls to see. There is also a famous camping site known as "Kabaragala peak" for the out door adventurers.
Bungalow could accommodate up to 8 to 10adults plus children as the beds are either two singles or king size in each room. All wash rooms have hot water and showers, no AC (never needed it), have pedestal fans.
Bungalow is well secured, away from the village. We have a full time caretaker and watcher to look into your needs. Food rations needs to be provided no charge for cooking, it included in the bungalow rate. Driver quarters available up to 2 to 3 drivers.
