Lake Lodge, are two converted lodges, set within thirty acres of rolling green countryside. It is a ramblers retreat, the Lodge is a complete self contained two bedroom guest house. Kitchen living and dining area with wooden beams and wood burning stove. Two bedrooms upstairs, master room en-suite and a bathroom on ground level. Complete with garden gazebo for outdoor dining. Wooded walk lands and access to Lough Owel for fishing. The Barn is an open plan living area with two bedrooms, master bedroom queen sled bed and a single bed. Second bedroom two double beds. Kitchen living and dining area open plan with mazainne area, single bed with play area overlooking living area. Bathroom on ground level. Complete with garden gazebo for outdoor dining. Enjoy the magnificent Ancient East that Ireland can offer. Cycle the Green Way, Mullingar to Moate, on the old railway line, a delightful spin for all the family.

A very comfortable house and friendly greeting. With small children the play facilities were a blessing. We did have some difficulty finding it, but got there in the end! We had two dogs which were made very welcome too. There are horses, a dog, cat and kitten on site which is great provided visiting pets are used to this. One of our dogs was a bit alarmed at the level of animal activity - but on the plus side the woodland walks are ideal to let them off the leash. I would recommend this little lodge and location. The midlands are a lovely and largely unexplored part of Ireland. BTW - Lovely restaurants in Multyfarnham across the road.

On a passé 15 jours à Lakelodge en Avril 2013. L'endroit est paradisiaque! On est au coeur de la nature. Un endroit retiré calme et silencieux où l'on peut profiter de la nature en famille ou avec des amis. Prenez le temps de profitez d'un balade dans les bois ou près du lac, marchez le long de la pâture où quelques chevaux galopent sur fond de lac. Bienvenues au Paradis! Le gîte est très confortable et très bien décoré. Le salon a tout pour se sentir comme chez soi. Dans le canapé au coin du feu pour lire un livre, regarder un bon film ou jouer en famille. Les chambres sont très belles les lits tout confort. La cuisine a tout l'équipement moderne, elle est parfaite pour cuisiner. A l'extérieur du gîte un terrain de jeu pour enfant avec toboggan et balançoires. Un petit coin repas à l'abri de la pluie. Un peu plus loin une cabane dans un arbre fera le bonheur de tous les enfants, ma fille n'en sortait plus. D'ailleurs on peut y passer la nuit si l'on ose. Je ne suis pas pêcheuse mais le lac plein de truites fera le bonheur des passionnés Il suffit de traverser la route du cottage pour trouver un pub très accueillant et chaleureux où l'on peut manger de délicieux desserts et des snacks. A 3 Km du gîte à Multyfarnham un pub très sympathique vous accueille pour une bière ou un repas irlandais gastronomique. Toute la cuisine est faite avec des produits de la région et tout est vraiment excellent. C'est le meilleur restaurant irlandais qu'on ait testé. Vous pouvez louer un bateau pour vous promener sur le lac au pub. A quelques minutes de là la ville de Mullingar, vous trouverez tout ce dont vous avez besoin sur place, supermarchés, essence, cinéma bowling, etc... Des endroits agréables à visiter se trouvent aux alentours du gîte, à plus ou moins grande distance, des sentiers de randonnée feront le bonheur des marcheurs. Nous avons passé un merveilleux moment à Lake lodge. Jacinta est très accueillante et sympathique.
