Though the beds are comfy, you may just want to get up early anyway, to view the magical display of the ever-changing, ethereal mist as it appears to rise from out of the mountains. While rocking on the large front porch, enjoy too, the majestic sunsets as the fireflies dance into the summer night. The fall scenery is also breathtaking. Our cabin is newer, cozy, clean, and located near the top of the mountain, with amazing views, 800 sq feet, 2 bed/2 bath, sleeps 6 with queen pullout couch. Queen beds are in the bedrooms as well. The open-concept living area has 15 ft- high cedar ceilings, hardwood floors and views from every room. It is fully furnished with central heat /ac + a fully equipped kitchen and dishwasher. Some of the nearby activities and points of interest are the Great Smoky Mountain National Park, the John Campbell Folk School, the Joyce Kilmer Memorial Forest, Lake Santeetlah, Lake Hiawassee, The Biltmore, the Saturday Morning Market in downtown Murphy, and the Smoky Mountain Railroad, for starters. Enjoy hiking, biking, or boating and swimming in the beautiful blue-green lakes nearby. There's white-water rafting, tubing, gem-mining, golfing, horseback riding, fishing, shopping, summer and fall festivals, even winter skiing and snow tubing. The area is renowned for its fall foliage, and has been compared to New England as its colors unfold in autumn. Accommodates couples or families. We hope you will enjoy our "Woodland Mist" cabin as much as we do! (It does have over 200 reviews with 5- star ratings on other popular websites, which can't be named here).
NOTE: The road up the mountain is a well- maintained, single-lane gravel road, which can be considered somewhat steep in certain areas. (This is "out in the country", after all.) HOA rules stipulate no motorcycles, ATV's or trailers allowed. A 4-WD drive vehicle is an added benefit, but not necessary. Please feel free to contact us with any questions.
