Description from manager
The Cornflowers is set in the peaceful hamlet of L'Oulerie, near to Lucon, and is surrounded by fields and countryside, yet is only a 20 minute drive to the lovely beaches of the Southern Vendée. An ideal holiday home for two families sharing or a large family gathering.
The house has been tastefully renovated and now offers spacious accommodation for up to 8 guests in four good sized bedrooms. There is a private garden with sunny terrace, BBQ area and 10m x 4m heated pool.
The large lounge has two leather sofas, a TV with UK and French channels, DVD player and internet access. A new games room, with play station, Wii, board games, books and films has been created to keep your children entertained.
The kitchen has a large dining table and chairs and is fully fitted with a gas/electric range oven, wine fridge, dishwasher, kettle, toaster and coffee maker. The washing machine, tumble dryer and large fridge freezer are located in the nearby utility room.
There is a family bathroom and separate WC on the ground floor.
Upstairs there are 4 bedrooms - two with two single beds each and two with double beds. One of the double bedrooms has an en suite shower room and there is a separate WC in the hallway.
Outside there is a shady veranda, with a large dining table and chairs, along with a built-in BBQ.
The heated pool is fenced off from the rest of the garden for the security of younger children and there are tall hedges surrounding the garden for privacy.
The house caters for younger children - with a cot, high chair, stairgates, plastic crockery & cutlery and lots of games and drwaing materials.
The Cornflowers is only a 20 minute drive to the lovely sandy beaches of the Vendee - suitable for surfing, body boarding, rock pooling or just relaxing and making sand castles.
The area is great for cycling and walking and is a haven for birdwatchers with the Wetlands nearby.
There are lots of tourist attractions within 30 minutes drive - such as the Indian Forest Adventure Park (with zip wires through the forest, pony rides, karting and water slides.), the Château des Aventuriers with its treasure trail through the house and gardens and the seaside towns of La Tranches sur Mer and La Faute sur Mer.
La Rochelle is less than an hour away - with its aquarium, old Port, 100s of restaurants and boat trips along the coast. The il de Re is also Worth a visit - with picturesque harbours, busy markets and wild beaches.
The Vendee is famous for the Puy du Fou Theme Park - only 1 hour away - a great day out for all the family - with fantastic shows with Gladiators, Vikings, Knights and Musketeers and a spectacular Evening 'Sound and Light' show.
