Perched on a small cliff top, providing unrivalled views of the South China Sea, Hibiscus Beach Retreat is a one bedroom self-contained chalet, perfect for couples and small families.

It's all about the Experience...

Wake up in the morning, enjoy a breakfast of coffee, cereal, bread and local fruits. Then walk down the steps to a secluded beach - go swimming, snorkeling or enjoy a stroll.. Have lunch, which can be delivered, and have a siesta in the hammock or sunbathe on the deck. Alternatively, go jungle trekking, mountain biking, mangrove touring. But make sure you return in time to watch the sun go down with a chilled glass of wine before cooking on your own BBQ or ordering some great local food, from one of the nearby restaurants.

House rules

The chalet is perched on top of a small cliff with a drop of about 6-8 metres to the beach below. Although the chalet and decking is set back, there is no barrier. Therefore, f you have young children, you'll need to be happy that they will be safe and not go near the edge.

“Blissfully quiet and beautiful.”

If you want to get off the grid, and find somewhere truly beautiful away from the usual resorts full of people, then this is it. The chalet is simple yet comfortable, and the location and view are perfect. The chalet is right above the beach, with a small set of steps down to a gorgeous stretch of sand that feels like a private beach. The only people we saw there were some local kids and a fisherman or two. The sea views are stunning, and I would absolutely recommend having a BBQ (if you can bring the food yourself) on the deck as the sun slips into the South China Sea. It is one of the most relaxing places I have ever been, and I will certainly be going back.

Not going to say too much but we had a wonderful weekend staying at the beach hut/villa. the surroundings are amazing, the sea view is breathtaking. it is not often you can feel like you are in a 5 star hotel but also so secluded. would definitely recommend for a lovely private get away.

Our stay at Hibiscus Beach retreat was the most relaxing weekend I have spent in Sabah. With about half a mile of beach to ourselves, not a tourist in sight and no other buildings in this bay, a perfect sea view straight from bed - the chalet is totally idyllic. I think Kudat offers some of the best beaches in Sabah and it's amazing to find this area still so untouched by tourism and big resorts. It made me feel pretty spoilt having this entire stunning beach to ourselves.Get yourself up to Kudat before that changes! The chalet is on a perfect little cliff top with a few steps down to the beach, with a small deck, and is considerately designed. Staff are on hand nearby and are super helpful, the place is perfectly maintained, the drawers are full of everything you need from kitchenware for BBQ's to bug spray to DVD's (not that you'll need any TV time up there with the amazing view from your bed and lots of outdoor activities in the area.)The staff will go and fetch food from a local restaurant for you - but you can request a BBQ or bring your own food for the fridge. The short forest walk to the chalet is a really pretty trail and is lit up at night time. The fridge is stocked with breakfast materials and there are lots of little finishing touches that make the stay extra nice; but really the location and open fronted room speaks for itself as you open all the doors onto the sea. Can't really explain how lovely and idyllic the place really is!

Santorini of Asia best describes this lovely beach retreat! It was love at first sight the moment we arrived & everything about it was perfect! James & the local security guard/guide was great in making us settle in and feel at home.They offer food delivery service so you wont need to leave the resort when hungry. If you are lucky & managed to catch any fish during your snorkeling session (they have all the gear ready); they can even set up a BBQ pit for you :). The seaview was simply breath taking! The fire-flies & pitch black night skies with (满天twinkling stars) was a big bonus...We saw three shooting stars in the span of one hour! Would love to come back soon again :)
