Traditional town house in the village of Abdet, near Guadalest, surrounded by beautiful mountain scenery, yet only 20 kms from Benidorm.

Feature well appointed bathrooms (one ensuite), and spacious bedrooms. Private garden/patio, Wood pellet stove for those cool winter evenings in this peaceful mountain village. There is even a secret hiding place, a reminder of Spain's relatively recent turbulent history.

During the summer months you can while away the hours at one of the local pools, spectacularly situated amidst amazing rock and mountain scenery. Also the local canyon provides excellent swimming in smooth rock pools.

Very Good

“Perfect location if you love the outdoors”

Reviewed 20 Jun 2017

A great base for rock climbing, mountain walking and other outdoor activities. It's a traditional house (so nice and cool in summer) but has been fully modernised. The facilities and equipment are excellent and include everything needed for a family or group. For climbers, the El Flare crags are just a short walk away and there is good rock and a nice mix of routes at various grades. It was quite a novelty to be able to nip home for lunch in between climbs! Abdet is an attractive, quiet village in a lovely mountain setting. Sitting on the roof terrace, drinking a cold beer and watching the full moon rising over the sea in the distance was a real highlight. Can't wait to return.

Owner's reply: Glad you enjoyed your stay! Did you try the swim in the canyon?

“Fab stay”

We used this house as a great Base for cycling and running which can both be done straight from the doorstep. Great place, will be returning!

“An idyllic week spent adventuring in a stunning location”

Reviewed 9 Nov 2016

The Abdet house is perfectly situated for cycling, trail running, rock climbing and open water swimming... and we did all of the above in our week there. Tom & Penny really take their guests comfort seriously and couldn't have been more helpful in ensuring that our stay was everything we wanted.

Owner's reply: So glad you enjoyed your return Kenny, thanks for being a great guest as well!

This is the second visit, just cannot get enough. More exploring with different beautiful trails, very sunny weather, awesome people and lovely homely apartment to go back to. Just amazing.

Owner's reply: So glad you enjoyed your 2nd stay in Abdet despite the rearrangements we had to make on the running and catering. Quite warm for the time of year! Hope to catch up soon! Tom & Penny

“perfect base”

Reviewed 4 Nov 2012

We were in late september at Abdet with 2 children (6, 7 yr). Weather was excellent. The house is fully furnished, comfortable and quiet and has a fantastic terrace with stunning mountain view. If anyone want to enjoy wonderful nature, beach and big cities (Alicante, Benidorm, Altea) at the same time during holiday, so Abdet, a peaceful, tiny village is a perfect base to discover this exciting region. We enjoyed very much our 9-day-long holiday there and we think of quick returning.

“Great location with fantastic views also lots to see in the area within 40 min radius..”

Fantastic old townhouse in a lovely quiet Spanish Village, great for walking , also Climbing & Cycling not the we did but wish we did . It was also very well equipped i was really surprised how well everything you will need it has. The views from the top terrace are stunning it was March when we stayed it was nice weather but in the Summer this is a terrace that you could sit all day & take in the views.

“excellent location to enjoy rural spain..”

Reviewed 3 Apr 2012

the location was perfect for us and our passion for cycling.. the roads were so quiet and with no potholes! the village location made for relaxing after a hard day of cycling whether it be on the roof terrace soaking up the sun or in the lounge curled up on the sofas. the villas are so unique split on various levels with bags of character.. the village was small but had a local bar which was great, the drinks were very cheap and the measures were very large! with several villages close to abdet with other cafes and various other shops it meant you were able to get food and drink whenever needed without going to far.. For me the best thing about this hol is the location and the roads it made for perfect cycling.

“A fantastic base for wonderful road cycling”

Reviewed 3 Apr 2012

Slightly off the main beaten track, but easily accessible, with fantastic views down the valley, the house was a great place from which to cycle. The surrounding terrain made for wonderful road trips - smooth tarmac, lovely climate, challenging hills. Coming back at the end of a hard day's ride to relax admiring the wonderful views from the roof terrace was quite idyllic.

“Great base for a walking holiday”

Reviewed 20 Mar 2012

The property was easy to find with the directions we were sent, and although nobody met us at the house when we arrived, we gained access with ease, and found the house in a clean and tidy state. The house was ideal for our needs (although more bedrooms than we required!), and had a nice rooftop terrace. For a walking/biking holiday, the location was perfect, and we found lots of guidebooks at the house which helped us plan out our week. The house also had bikes to borrow if we had wanted, although we ended up walking, since it all looked a bit too steep for cycling! In terms of the local amenities we had a couple of really excellent lunchtime meals and tapas in nearby villages. Disappointingly, we found that all the local restaurants seemed to close in the evening (this may have been due to the low tourist season in March??) In summary, we would recommend this accommodation as a really good base for a walking holiday and represented good value for money.

Owner's reply: Glad you enjoyed your stay. Many traditional Spanish restaurants open just in the afternoon, but if you ask in advance they will open for you in the evening as long as you tell them your are coming. Bar Mari will allow you to order in advance. Monday evening most restaurants will shut.

“Great Location in Spanish Village”

Reviewed 29 Feb 2012

Excellent base for walking and climbing. Very cold during our stay; snowed two days. Wood pellet stove and radiators kept house nice and warm. Very cosy at night.

Owner's reply: Glad you enjoyed another stay with us and that the new heaters worked well for you. That week was one of the coldest Europe has had for many weeks and as you know in the Costa Blanca it is very unusual for it to get that cold!
