Lisbo a Beachfront Property
Accommodates six people
A unique, and very charming, holiday home built in 1929 - renovated in 1997. In fact, this is one of the first holiday homes on the north coast of Zealand and it has been modernised with great care. It is located right next to the Kattegat Sea and has a unique 180-degree view of the sea, the Hesselø and Kullaberg (Kullen) in Sweden. The cottage is built of stone and has a thatched roof and several terraces. There are six beds allocated in two rooms and one alcove. The master bed room on the 1st floor accommodates 2 - on a double bed with a stunning sea view. On the 1st floor as well there, is a alcove or "the cave" where a double bed is located, at ground level there is the "green room" here two bunk beds are located providing a total of 4 beds, to bottom and two top beds.
When staying at "Lisbo" one should expect countryside charm, invigorating outdoors life, stunning sunsets, fresh fish, and the smell of beautiful rose hip bushes that surrounds the premises. Kikhavn itself provides the setting for wonderful walks, eating local produce sold from half-timbered on the side of small winding roads of the village. The beaches infront of the house gives a secluded cove feel and is rarely visited by other guest that those who stay at "Lisbo". I larger beaches with shallow waters are preferred simply turn left or right on the small path infront of the house, and walk a few hundred meters.
After a long day in fresh air, relax in the verand or infront of the fireplace. If the weather is bad cosy up infront of the SMART tv and enjoy a movie.
There are no public transport to or from the village, which is make it more calm and quiet. Bikes from the shed can be used for longer excursions to the Fisherman's Warf in Hundested, a beautiful warf that has become the hart of the city, riddled with small kwerky stores, flee markets, ice creme parlors, breweries and fresh catches from the surrounding Kattegat Sea.
Kikhavn is an old fishing village in the parish of Torup northeast of Hundested in North Zealand. The village was referred to in the books already in 1561. At that time the inhabitants lived of a combination of agriculture and fishing.
Kikhavn has been devastated by several fires throughout the centuries, but today it stands as it did 200 years ago with its many beautiful old half-timbered houses with thatched roofs and is located just off the Kattegat coast. Walking from Kikhavn over the small hills towards Hundested you first get to the old Spodsbjerg Lighttower and then to the Greenland traveller Knud Rasmussen's house.
The best!

Beautiful, private retreat in Kikhavn

Our family of 3 adults and 3 children enjoyed all that this beautiful, compact house had to offer for a week. The area is picturesque and very special. Each evening we walked along the beach enjoying the coastal breeze and sunshine. We rode and walked around the beautiful little village of Kikhavn most days, soaking in the atmosphere. We also used the house as a base and drove further afield around Jutland and Zealand during the day. The fishing village of Hundested is nearby (within walking distance) where you find necessities like supermarkets and banks - and a harbour that has the most magnificent smoked seafoods and restaurants. The house itself is immaculately kept inside, very clean, tidy and well maintained. It is situated off a tiny, quiet road, and you feel very safe and private as it is nestled in amongst glorious rose hedges. It has everything that a family could possibly want. We cooked most evening meals there and the kitchen is well stocked with utensils, linen etc. The owners were happy to be contacted by us with any queries we had. We found dealing with them easy and pleasant. We would definitely recommend this house to anyone, whether a family or a couple. It is a place we would love to return to one day.
