"Galle Fort" is one of the most enriching cultural experiences that Sri Lanka can offer its' travelers from all over the world. Villa Aurora can rightly claim to be at its heart, offering magnificent accommodation in one of Sri Lanka’s most historic locations. It is nice to travel to Galle throughout the year. Even during the monsoon months of May to September, there is no continuous rain. There's only a little rain and can say mixed weather.

This lovely villa offers 3 luxury double rooms. The entire ground floor comprises with one of the three bedrooms, a spacious living and dining area opened to the courtyard and a fully equipped open-plan kitchen. The second floor offers the master bedroom, the third room and the laundry room. The Master bedroom is the largest room in the house, overlooking the historical protection walls of the Fort which are called the ramparts where you can have beautiful walks overlooking the Sea in Galle Bay. All the rooms are air-conditioned and ensuite. And all have Fibre Wifi connections for free use.

Opposite the house is a small beach at the foot of the Fort Lighthouse. The reef protects the beach from the ocean waves and the shallow water is very refreshing.

From the minute you arrive, our personable house manager "Nalin" is dedicated to providing you with the best care possible, so that you instantly feel relaxed and at home. He tends to you in the traditional Sri Lankan way and will satisfy your needs and expectations. And the Villa is surrounded by all different kinds of famous restaurants. A chef can be arranged on request. Please contact us directly to have this arranged. Nalin is available daytime in the villa. But after 17.00 PM he is leaving the villa honouring the privacy of the guests. Of course, this can be fine-tuned at the guest’s request. Villa is given on a self-catering basis. However, for holiday rentals Nalin offers breakfast.

A solar-powered battery system has been installed at the villa to ensure a much better power supply continuity as the batteries are charged when the sun is shining or by Government electricity and can be used for power in the house during power cuts for at least 8 hours.

We accept cash payments, Master & Visa Card payments and bank transfers as payment methods. Also can be rented individual rooms based on availability. But we do not accept bookings for the individual rooms from 15th Dec to 15th Jan. Please contact us to check the availability and the rates for rooms or the whole villa

Dear David, We are very sorry to hear that you had a bad experience at your one (1) day booking at Villa Aurora. But, this is the first negative review we heard about this villa with your comments. Because you can see we just have won an award from Trip Advisor (Certificate of Excellent 2017). We have received this Award because the house manager is really good in hospitality and has good experience in the field. He is a very friendly and helpful guy who communicates courteously with the guests. Said all of our previous guests. We have three different rooms with different rates based on the size of the room, views, and facilities. Master Bedroom with attached bathroom is the most expensive and the second room on the first floor has its own bathroom but NOT direct connected en-suit. The Third bedroom is on the Top floor and has an en-suite bathroom & direct access to the roof terrace. You have booked the cheapest & smallest room on the first floor with separate bathroom. Nalin has immediately offered you an upgrade “FOR FREE” where you could choose any of the rooms as we did not had another booking at the same time so Nalin wanted to make you happy with this offer of upgrade. You choose the same room as you booked and you did not want to have a free upgrade. I have a feeling that the language barrier between you and Nalin, was more the reason to create an unpleasant stay at aurora Villa, as Nalin already mentioned to me that you did not speak very good English. And regarding the payment system, the link automatically sends through the system. And clearly mentioned on booking.com we accept only Master cards and Visa cards. Actually, we never had complains regarding the online payment system before. Because, it is handling by a specialized company and is easy to work with payment system. It might be that because of the language barrier you might had also some problems with the online payment system or the Credit Card type as we accepted only Master cards and Visa cards. The Villa is in our “point of view” a clean & good maintained villa with an excellent staff member called Nalin. But because we are not happy to have an unsatisfied guest, we will offer you again a free 1 day stay at our villa in the coming 6 months if we do not have already another booking on your requested date.

Why can't I call Frank (the owner) before booking?

How do damage deposits work?

In most cases, you don’t pay a damage deposit up front. Instead, we save your payment details securely and you’re only charged in the event of damage to the property.

Occasionally, you will pay a damage deposit up front as part of the total rental cost. In this case, the owner has 10 days after you check out to report any damage. If they don’t, we’ll return your deposit. If their claim is successful, we’ll deduct the agreed cost and return the remainder.

You can request to change the dates or number of people on your booking via the Manage your holiday booking page. To change your holiday dates use the Edit booking button. If you need to change the number of guests staying then send Frank (the owner) a message.

If Frank (the owner) agrees, they’ll send you a revised quote outlining the changes. You can review and accept/decline this from the Manage your holiday booking page. You’ll have 48 hours to take action before the revised quote expires.
