Welcome to Dublin Barge Hire, Dublin City Centre's first self-catering cruising barge.The barge 'Tig Beatha' , a 50 x 10 foot (15 x 3.1m) barge was built in 2004 to a high specification. Its warm inviting interior and its comfortable living space makes this self-catering barge an ideal environment for a holiday break. For real comfort the barge sleeps 2 people. However, 'Tig Beatha' is a four berth barge and is suitable for up to four adults or two adults and two children. So, it is entirely up to you how you want to utilise the space for your holiday. So, why not try something a little less conventional! Experience an unexpectedly tranquil setting in the heart of the city centre by staying on board a special self-catering cruising barge. The unique living space gives something new, exciting and exclusive to your stay in Dublin. Located on the Central Line of the Grand Canal it allows you the opportunity to cruise the canal from Grand Canal Basin in Ringsend to Percy Place. Tig Beatha is located in a prime location in South Dublin City Centre with an array of cafes, restaurants and shops at your disposal. The barge is moored in the marina - a 2 minute walk from Bord Gais Energy Theatre. When in the Marina in the Inner Basin keep an eye out for the playful otters.Your vessel Tig Beatha is a charming wide beam barge. When you step inside you will see a wooden interior comprising of a solid oak floor and veneer wooden walls and ceiling. Guests must leave in the morning time during lock keepers hours. You cruise 6 locks in total (3 locks from Grand Canal Dock to Percy Place and 3 locks on your return journey).
