The farmhouse is tastefully decorated and beautifully equipped outdoor and indoor with everything to make your stay as pleasurable and comfortable as possible. It allies the character and charm of a traditional farmhouse with luxury modern comfort (integrated reversible and silent Air Conditioning, heated swimming pool with salt electrolysis so no nasty chemicals, SONOS sound system, Smart Tv, Sky channels, plenty of books, games and DVDs). It is safely nestled in its fenced olive grove and garden full of Mediterranean plants and located on the foothill of the Alpilles Natural Park, in a peaceful rural setting but just a 15 minutes walk away through quiet and safe lanes to the picturesque and lively village of Eygalieres where you will find many shops, boutiques, bars and restaurants. The local market is held there every Friday morning, the perfect opportunity to enjoy local produce and a drink at the “café de la place”. It is conveniently located 45 minutes from Marseille airport and 15 minutes drive from the motorway. It is your ideal base to visit Provence and enjoy its sites, vineyards and sporting activities. Getting around

There are many sites to visit around and a car is absolutely necessary (the rural location means absence of local public transport).We also have a classic convertible car rental service for an exciting and out of the ordinary driving experience in our beautiful Alpilles "mountains". Search provenceclassics for more information. A very pleasant 15 minutes walk takes you to the village with all its amenities (restaurants, shops, news agent, baker, butcher...and the market). Food shopping can be done in the village of Eygalieres (1.2km), at the local supermarket in Orgon (7km) or at any village market, there is one every day of the week somewhere in Eygalieres or neighbouring villages.

We are at your disposal prior to your stay to advise you on your vacation. We also have a couple of very friendly and efficient house managers who will welcome you and be your point of contact during your stay, should you have any query about the house. They also offer services (at extra cost) such as fridge filling, baby sitting, cooking at home, booking services and much more.

“The perfect Provencal retreat”

My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our two weeks at Mas de la Plume. Over the years, we have rented some beautiful houses in Europe -- including one previously in Provence -- and this is by far the one we enjoyed most. It is a lovely home that is full of charm and surrounded by an oasis of beautiful plants and flowers, olive trees, mountain views, and serenading birds. There are so many options for places to sit and relax that it was sometimes difficult to choose! We especially loved the fully stocked kitchen (up to date appliances and most cooking gadgets you can think of -- even a mortar and pestle which I am fond of using). We used it regularly to whip up dishes using the fabulous local produce from the markets. A few other of the many high points of our stay: **Although the house is designed to look like it has been in Eygalieres forever (and indeed that is part of its charm), each room has every modern comfort and convenience (including the shower heads and perfect water pressure in the bathrooms!). **The situation of the house outside of town and its layout creates an atmosphere of absolute peace and quiet. It allowed my husband to work without interruption on the book he is currently writing. **The property managers Matt and Marcus were incredibly responsive and helpful. **The small town of Eygalieres was a delight with its Friday market, several good restaurants, as well as an excellent fromagerie, boucherie, and grocery store (we look forward to the re-opening of the boulangerie, which was under construction during our stay). Like others who before us have reviewed Mas de la Plume, we are reluctant to gush too much more, as we don't want to lose our spot for next year!
