Description

A few kilometers from Reggio Emilia and Modena, in Bologna and Milan, in a village in the countryside, on the hills of Reggio Emilia, in an old house with a high tower or home (residence, which dates from the fifteenth century, which is the dominant element and aggregation of villages houses) is Il Vecchio Borgo with rooms and apartments with fully equipped kitchen. The farm is an ideal starting point for cultural attractions, historical sites (matildici places), and scenic routes, with rooms and apartments ready to accommodate tourists looking for a quiet corner. The revival of the woods that are slowly reoccupying many of those lands which in former times they were used as agricultural, together with a construction activity aimed at the recovery of the existing make of the place an oasis of greenery and tranquility near the Po valley. It is only 15 Km from Maranello (Ferrari F1); 30 Km from Castello di Matilde of Canossa; 60 km from Bologna, Parma and Mantua; 140 Km from the Garda Lake and Florence, 200 km from the eastern Ligurian Riviera (Cinque Terre) and Rimini. Ideal place for a form of genuine tourism in direct contact with the local area, outside but close to the traditional tourist destinations, offering accommodation in self catering of all comfort and to create synergy with the nearby public exercises with particular attention the gastronomic aspects. There is the possibility to request and based on availability of cars and motorcycles to stay indoors and to rent mountain bikes for guests who want to walk the enchanting landscapes of the Reggio hills with many paths of different levels of difficulty (availability at the farm of maps and routes with gradients). All the premises have been the subject of a recent intervention of restoration and preservation that has tried to preserve the original features of the rooms: the floors are all with beams, joists and tiles, the roof of the building is made of wood with oak floorboards and more than one internal wall is made to face original exposed stones. Thanks also to a careful and accurate lighting has been possible to create a rustic ambiance and at the same time warm and welcoming. The North apartment has two bedrooms, one double and one with 2 single beds and a shared bathroom. More large living area with kitchen, oven and fireplace. Please note that prices include bed linen, towels, cleaning fee before tax, electricity, water and gas for the summer. For the period corresponding to the autumn, winter and spring (October to May) you are asked for a contribution of 3.00 euro per meter cube consumed gas.
