Description from owner

Description

Pijpeweg71 is a stunning cottage set on the edge of classical Flemish landscape, yet only a few minutes drive from historic Bruges, the charming village of Damme and the exclusive coastal resort Knokke. The cottage overlooks fields and is just the place for a relaxing break in style, far from busy city life.

Having been completely redeveloped inside and out in 2010, Pijpeweg71 has all the latest fixtures and fittings you would expect from an elegant holiday home. The interior décor combines granite, blue stone, linen, woods and easy colours in an effortless style that the Flemish are renowned for.

With three quarters of an acre of beautifully landscaped gardens and an orchard that opens up to a vista across neighbouring fields, the cottage is also an ideal location to host an unforgettable private party during your stay.

Pijpeweg71 is the ideal setting for a relaxing break. It is also the perfect hideaway from which to explore the historic Bruges and Damme, as well as Knokke, the nearby smart coastal resort.

With its 3 bedrooms the cottage can sleep 6 to 7 people comfortably.

The kitchen with its black granite worktop is fully equipped with the latest fittings and equipment, providing everything you need to prepare a special meal.

The open plan living and dining area leads off the kitchen, where you will find a dining table and Eames Dining Arm Rod chairs for 8 people, together with a wood burner to keep you cosy long into the night. There is also a bar with a wine fridge (wine list available upon request).

At the other end of the open plan room you'll find a snug with a sofa, armchairs and TV. At the back of the cottage, enjoying fine views over the property's landscaped gardens, there's a library with another woodburner for a relaxing read in peace.

The roomy bathroom provides a spacious rain shower and bath. The cottage has 2 additional loos.

In the garden, the south-facing terrace, a large natural pond and the shadow of the orchard provide an outdoor haven that draws your eye to the landscape beyond.

There is off-road parking outside the cottage and storage for bikes.

“Great location, comfortable house”

Reviewed 29 Aug 2018

Really nice location in a quiet neighbourhood right on the eastern edge of Bruges. Very easy to get into the centre of Bruges or use this as a base to explore Flanders more widely. The house is very comfortable and finished to a high standard. Just one piece of guidance. Because one of the bedrooms is accessible only via a walkway above the dining area, I would not recommend this house to anyone bringing very young children. Other than that, it's great.

Owner's reply: Dear Martin, thank you very much for your kind review! You are right about the walkway, it is not very childfriendly. However to overcome this problem when small kids are our guests, we can arrange for a childproof fence to be installed before the walkway making it more safe for them. Hope to you welcome you again in Bruges some time in the future! kind regards,Els
