The Valle d'Aosta region

The Aosta Valley is an Alpine valley that with its side valleys includes the Italian ski resort of Breuil Cervinia that is linked to Zermatt ski resort (Swiss)

The region is famous for the highest mountain of Europe such as Mont Blanc pick (4810 m). for that reason in Aosta Valley and especially in Cervinia, the snow condition is never a problem! Some Cervinia slopes are open also in August so that it is possible to ski also during the summer. The winter season usually begins on October and ends on may.

The cuisine of the Aosta Valley is characterized by potatoes, polenta, rice, cheese and meat.

Many of the dishes involve Fontina, a cheese with PDO status, made from cow's milk that originates from the valley. It is found in dishes such as a soup a la valpellinentse and the famous Fonduta Valdostana.

Other cheeses made in the region are Toma and Robiola.

Regional specialties, besides Fontina, are moccetta (dried chamois meat, prepared like prosciutto), Vallée d'Aoste Lard d'Arnad (a cured and brined fatback product with PDO designation), Vallée d’Aoste Jambon de Bosses (a kind of ham, likewise with PDO designation), and a black bread. Notable wines include a white wine from Morgex, a red wine blend from Arvier (Enfer d'Arvier), and a Gamay.

In the valley you can find a lot of restaurant where you can taste the famous cuisine of the valley.

350 km of pistes, 59 ski-lift. From Plateau Rosa you can go down to Zermatt, or take the track "Ventina": 12 km of slope from 3480 meters to 2050 meters of Cervinia.

The Indian park, considered one of the best snowpark of the Alps, is equipped with rails and kickers. Breathtaking panoramic views follow you all throughout your stay in Cervinia.

Heliskiing: modern and safe brings you to the highest pick where you can ski downhill with a beautiful fabulous panorama all around.

The ski season never end at an altitude of 3480 meters and Cervinia has always been home for the summer skiing: 23 km of summer slopes. The snow keeps its winter condition even when the August sun tan the fans of sunbathing.

Those who want to surf really enjoy the Half-pipe of the Gravity Park of Cervinia.

The Golf Club of the Cervino (Matterhorn), the highest in Europe (2050m) The golf course has 18 holes, par 69 and is long 5303 meters. The field is characterized by pronounced slopes and flat holes, gentians, anemones and assiduous spectators are the marmots. The field, located in a unique natural environment, offers to the player spectacular views of the Matterhorn (Cervino). The mountain style club house has a restaurant and a bar where you can enjoy the best of the Aosta Valley cuisine.
