Description from owner

Spectacular log homes on the outskirts of the forest , The Carpathian Log Home is a complex of two identical villas set on a 2 acres property filled with apple trees and green meadows. This 4 bedrooms villa offers comfortable accomodation on three levels. The ground floor comprises of a high ceiling living room with fireplace and glass facade to the valley bellow, open plan modern and fully equiped kitchen, a dining room area for 10, a spacious bedroom with ensuite full bathroom, sauna and jacuzzi. The ground floor is surrounded by a large terrace, offering magnificent views to the mountains and the valley.

The first floor comprises of two large bedrooms with ensuite bathrooms and own terrace, while on the third floor there's a bedroom with ensuite bathroom and a gym area with breathtaking views.

Being so close to Carpathian Log Home2, only 20 meters away, the two villas can be booked together and accommodate up to 22 adults. Small events can be organised, the dining area being very generous. We also work with a catering restaurant, so meals can be delivered to the house, if planned ahead. The condition is that menus will be delivered for minimum 6-8 people.

The Carpathian Log Home is suitable for ski holidays, relaxing away from it all retreats for families with kids, lovers of nature and traditions, as the village of Bran is the gate to the mysterious Transylvania with its centuries old fortresses and ancient popular traditions. The nearby city of Brasov or the Sighisoara fortress are rich in history and culture, exquisite pubs and clubs and most of all, friendly romanians willing to share the beauties of their country with worldwide tourists.

Getting around

If you're going to rent a car, I strongly suggest you get a 4wd car. Dacia Duster is a very good option, not expensive and totally worth the effort on these roads. Getting around without a car is not the easiest thing to do, but taxis are available to take you from the house to the bus station ( 3 km) or to the train station ( 7 km). From there you have connections to Brasov and further away.

Interaction with guest

I have an independent flat at the property, so I might be around during your stay, but it's not a must. If I won't be at home when you arrive, the key will be in a digital lockbox, you will receive the code before arrival. I'll be happy to provide informations on what to do/see, book tours for you or arrange airport transfers, if you need that. If you need a baby sitter or if you require a housekeeper's help, that can be arranged for a fee as well. We can also arrange catering services for you, cooked meals can be delivered to the house. Whatever your needs are, there'll always be a solution, so just ask and we'll be happy to help.

Very Good

Ema and her partner were so helpful to us as we had problems hiring a car, not only did they drive my partner to a supermarket on the first day but found local places we could hire from. Lovely people, always offering if any help is needed, beautiful home and location. Highly recommend to anyone. We went with 3 children and the space for them was amazing, they all had their own bathroom in their rooms which was great for them and for us! My partners Romanian family visited us and we made great use of the outdoor barbecue and gazebo area. I cannot rate highly enough. Thank you both so much.

“Most memorable holiday ever”

Reviewed 22 Oct 2017

All the family, ages 7 - 70 years loved this holiday! The house, the country, the people, the views, all outstanding. The house has all mod cons and nothing is too much trouble for the owners. Beautiful views. Lots of places to visit. We loved feeding the dog! You must go to Bucegi and on the cable car. The views are spectacular! Awesome holiday.

“Fantastic log home with spectacular views”

Reviewed 3 Jan 2016

This is a lovely log home, very warm, cosy and homely. Extremely well fitted and suitable for any age range but not for anyone with mobility problems. We were a group of 7 adults and spent Christmas there, unfortunately there was no snow due to the unusually warm weather across Europe at the moment but this didn't spoil our enjoyment. Ema was extremely helpful, she put up the Christmas tree and decorated it beautifully, she also arranged the purchased of a turkey for our Christmas meal. She gave very helpful advise as to where to visit and what was interesting. A car is a definite must and something suitable to be able to negotiate the unmade, narrow, up hill road leading to the house; I have to say that if we had very low temperatures and snow, accessing the house by car would have been very difficult if not impossible. A lovely experience, lovely house, beautiful scenery and well worth a visit.

Owner's reply: Thank you Georgina, it's always such a pleasure to hear that my guests had a good time at the Carpathian Log Home! As for the lack of snow, mid January/ February is a safer bet for the snow lovers here. Give it another try sometime, we'd love to have you back!:) The road leading to the house during snowy times can be a problem indeed, but only on the last 150 meters to the house, being very steep. Guests can park their cars safely and walk the last 150 meters, or ask me and I'll be happy to help with my 4wd car. Thanks again for coming and looking forward to seeing you for a summer Transylvanian adventure too!:)

“Carpathian lodge”

Had a warm welcome to CArpathian house by the owner. My husband, grown up family x4 and partners joined us with our 1st grandchild of 4 weeks. The Xmas decorations were up, the turkey in the fridge and wine on the house. All was warm, with beautiful views, and welcoming. Great place to visit, the skiing was good, ice skating in BRasov and BRan castle on the doorstep. Would like to return in spring/ summer months for the walking. We attained what we wanted a white Xmas, family time and it was good. Our hostess could not do enough for us. Totally recommended

Owner's reply: Thank you so much for taking the time to review your stay at the Carpathian Log Home. I'm happy to hear that you found here everything you were hoping for, I would absolutely love welcoming you again in the summer! Returning guests get discounts too;) See you again sometime!:)

“Perhaps the best vacation rental I have ever stayed in”

Reviewed 26 Oct 2013

This was perhaps the best self catering vacation home I have ever stayed at world wide. It is new, exceptionally large, comfortable, contains all the modern utensils one may need for an extended stay. It is ideal for a family with children, or a few couples traveling together. The living space is very large, the rooms are large and pleasant and each contains a private bathroom. There is lots to do in the Bran-Brasov area - if we ever return we will certainly try to book this place again. Be prepared to negotiate a steep and deteriorating dirt access road. You do not need 4 wheel drive, but a high clearance vehicle is recommended.

Owner's reply: Thank you for taking the time to write a few words, it is always a pleasure to know that our guests had a good time while staying at the Carpathian Log Home. You're welcome back anytime, this place will only get better!

“Dream challet in perfect location...beware of vampires”

Spent a wonderfull week in this superb villa and cant wait to go back next year .We could not fault the high standard of accommodation on offer , furnishings are very tasteful, the kitchen well equipped with all the modern appliances ,sauna ,jacuzzi , just name it and is there. It was absolutely perfect for the whole family, and the view from the terrace is outstanding. The quality of every service, and the courtesy of the owners was greatly appreciated. It makes a big a difference to be in a place that is maintained and managed by the owners with such high standards.Location is excellent - just 2-3 minutes drive to the local deli-supermarket ,about 5 minutes drive to Dracula`s Castle(Bran Castle) , restaurants and other shops, 10 min drive to Rasnov Citadel for an excellent medieval experience etc. I can really recommend a stay will not be disappointed! L&C London ,U.K.

Owner's reply: Thank you so much for the kind words, it is wonderful to hear that our guests are enjoying their stay here, and that we can meet the western standards even in Romania. Looking forward to welcoming you here again, returning guests get nice discounts:)

My family and a couple of friends spent an amazing week in this cabin. The location is perfect and we could not enjoy enough the peace and quiet. The cabin has got a huge terrace all around it and that provided the perfect place to find shade outside all throughout the day. It has also got a fully equipped fully functioning kitchen and this means a huge amount to parents who know taking your kids out for dinner is a recipe for disaster! The neighbors locals were also fantastic and showed us some great spots to pick blackberries!! We also enjoyed apples from their garden, they are ever so hospitable! Great fun for our kids! Its perfect location, meant that we could do fantastic day trips. We do suggest you get very detailed description for your destination on your day trips as Romanian road signs are terrible (more like non existent) and we wasted precious time going back and forth a few times when we could not find the right turn! Great week overall in a great cabin and great company!

Owner's reply: Thank you so much for your kind words, I'm very happy when my guests have a great time here! It is a quiet spot indeed, it's a great joy to see so many families gathering together from all over the world here... Speaking of blackberries, you have forgotten them in the fridge, so next time you come here, there'll be a nice selection of blackberries preserves waiting for you:)

Owner's reply: Thank you for the nice words, I'm glad you've had a wonderful time here in Bran! Looking forward to welcoming you again, perhaps for a ski vacation next time?:)
