WE ALLOW PETS BUT THERE IS A PET FEE Of $25 for short rental and $40 for long rental.

Just a 1.5 block walk to the beach to the right or 1.5 block to the Bolinas Village and shops, this 1000 square foot cozy artful redwood cottage offers views of the hillside and town near hiking trails of Mount Tamalpais Mountain Park and the Point Reyes National Seashore. Behind the house is the edge of a 40 acre quail reserve and is very private with views of the valley and a 2 person Japanese soaking tub. This creatively unique cottage with its brsnch staircase the home of an artist and contains collections of textiles from the artist's own collection.This cottage opens up its magic the longer you stay perfect for families with small children and couples ,writers,people seeking a retreat.The cottage is in town yet feels far away from everything. The interior was renovated in 1991 and ornamented in in a Asian,European,Californian with reclaimed hardwood floors,redwood walls,old fashioned Wedgewood stove for cooking as well as portable oven,microwave,etc.The downstairs room is right off the kitchen and bathroom and perfect for older couple.Upstairs is like a tree house with windows on all sides. Two of other foldout futon couches have very comfortable latex foam mattresses.The third room is like a writers room containing a single futon for the kids as well as loft cubby full of pillows and futon. .

House rules

Be sure to be careful with Bidet and monitor it around children that they dont stand on the lid of the seat. Heater should go on in the morning and the night on a timer. Use woodstove to augment heat but during drought we are discouraging use of wood stove and use of Japanese soaking tub out back . WE REquire a proof of vaccination card or 36 hour Covid test during these times

Thanks for your review.The downstairs was built in 1910 so they did not have large kitchens in those days,Though we have old fashioned gas stove,microwave,toaster oven,hot pot,waffle maker,and coffee maker. But all those things take up counter space. But many have cooked a Thanksgiving dinner.Thanks for coming!

How do damage deposits work?

In most cases, you don’t pay a damage deposit up front. Instead, we save your payment details securely and you’re only charged in the event of damage to the property.

Occasionally, you will pay a damage deposit up front as part of the total rental cost. In this case, the owner has 10 days after you check out to report any damage. If they don’t, we’ll return your deposit. If their claim is successful, we’ll deduct the agreed cost and return the remainder.

How do I edit my booking?

You can request to change the dates or number of people on your booking via the Manage your holiday booking page. To change your holiday dates use the Edit booking button. If you need to change the number of guests staying then send Sha Sha (the owner) a message.

If Sha Sha (the owner) agrees, they’ll send you a revised quote outlining the changes. You can review and accept/decline this from the Manage your holiday booking page. You’ll have 48 hours to take action before the revised quote expires.
