“Excellent accomodations” Three bedrooms, two baths, great kitchen (plenty of prep area, Viking stove, island) and dining room, perfect for 4, perfect for 6 who are good friends and willing to share a bathroom. Great outside options; porch with privacy, gas fireplace area with privacy and perfect for testing the local wines. Plenty of places to find privacy when you want it. Exceptionally clean and well maintained. Close to downtown. All six of us who stayed there are looking forward to going back.
“Nice Charming Getaway” The Good...the house is in an excellent location. The walk to downtown Paso is mere minutes. With so many restaurants and bars and shops, you never need to get into your car while staying there unless you want to go to the wineries. The place is great for dogs. Both the front and backyards are fenced in so your pooch can hang outside without you having to worry about it getting out. Also, the surrounding neighborhood is a nice place to a dog walk. The furnishings are stylish yet comfy.
The Bad...the downstairs bathtub hadn't been truly cleaned in awhile. It is a nice jetted tub that calls out to anyone who likes to take a nice bath. Well, once I filled up the water, weird algae-like black blobs started to appear. Then, when I turned on the jets, more black stuff came out of the jets and the bath became a swirling cauldron of yuck. Another negative, and this might sound nitpicky but I will still mention it, no Kleenex in the house. I think the bathrooms should have a small box of tissues. The staircase is extremely steep. If you are elderly, have bad knees, or have young kids, the stairs could possibly be dangerous because they are so steep. Lastly, there were check-out instructions left on the counter in the kitchen. Two of the items mentioned on that list were sort of lame considering we paid a $100 cleaning fee when we rented the place. The first was that we had to take out all the garbage. The second was we had to do all the dishes or else another cleaning fee was going to be assessed. I get not wanting to leave the place in shambles but after packing up the car and getting ready to leave, we had to go to every waste basket and collect the garbage and take it out to the black trash can on the side of the house and wash and dry the 2 wine glasses we used while there and put them back. What does the $100 cleaning fee go towards?
All in all, it is a nice house with some quirks with a great yard in a stellar location. I would stay there again.
“Fit our family perfectly....” Embarcadero, golfing, restaurants, beach, and shopping all within a short drive or walk. The house was fully stocked with all we needed for cooking, cleaning, and entertainment. We had a great time....
