Description from owner

Description

With its own swimming pool and safe enclosed back garden you can just relax around the private pool or spend a morning or afternoon at the beach. Although in the middle of the town, it's actually in a very quiet tucked away place, so is very tranquil. But within a short walk you have a classic French town square with its daily market, numerous restaurants (not just French cuisine), several bars looking out over the harbour, the ferry to Bendor island (with its swimming and diving), mini cruises to the Calanques and other locations, great shopping, especially for clothes and fashion, tasty artisan ice creams, all the usual food shops, 3 superb and very clean beaches and many other activities too numerous to mention. All this in a part of the Cote d'Azur that is far less manic (and dare I say better for it) than what's down the coast towards Nice and Cannes. The villa itself is well equipped with all the usual facilities one would expect in the 21st century including:

Location description from owner

The French Riviera - Cote d'Azur region

Bandol is a little gem on the Cote d'Azur between Marseille and Toulon. It's a working town, with a beautiful port, a lively market every day in the town square and enough restaurants and bars to not have to eat in the same one (unless you want to!) for at least a month. Check out Trip Advisor and you'll see a great selection of restaurants to suit every budget and taste.

The beaches are safe and sheltered and all have lifeguards in the peak season. There are some lovely shops along the sea front and some of the best ice cream parlours in the south of France. Everything a short walk from the villa.

Bandol

There is plenty to do in the area – take the 5 minute ferry to Isle de Bendor (the home of Ricard Pastis) and walk around the island, visit the art gallery, swim off the rocks or take in a lunch at one of the beach restaurants. Take a boat trip along the famous “Calanques”, the stunning cliffs that lie between Bandol and Marseille. Visit the many Bandol vineyards – Bandol has its own microclimate and AOC and produces excellent whites, roses and some of the best and most expensive red wines in France. In summer you can try waterskiing, banana boat and donuting or parasailing. There are plenty of schools where you can learn to scuba dive or just snorkel. The Paul Ricard circuit at Le Castellet for petrol heads is 20km away – far enough so you can't hear it at all but can drive up if you want to watch a race. Only 5 minutes out of town is the Dolce Fregate golf course, one of the top courses in France with one of the most spectacular landscapes in Europe. For the kids (and adults!) there is Aqualand in nearby St Cyr sur Mer with over 11 wicked water slides for everyone to enjoy. And of course there are lots of places to explore – Les Gorges du Verdon, the perched villages of Le Castellet and La Cadiere (think Russell Crowe in A Good Life when he helps out as a waiter in the restaurant – they really are like that!). And within an hour's drive you have Marseille, St Tropez and some of the best known resorts in Provence.
