Located in Santa Catarina, in Lisbon's historic center, this charming and comfortable apartment in a building of the eighteenth century, is sited in a quiet area close to the known Chiado and Bairro Alto neighborhoods.

The APARTMENT
This old house was recently renovated and decorated preserving the original plan.The high ceilings and the eighteenth century Portuguese tiles are seamlessly combined with modern and very comfortable decor. A large window in the living room let in the famous Lisbon light.
The apartment comprises a bright living room, a double room, a kitchen and a bathroom.
The kitchen is fully equipped including coffee maker and kettle.
WC with shower.
The living room is equipped with a sofa that can turn into a bed to fit one extra person. This is a futton bed.
The apartment is on the 2nd floor of an old (restored) traditional building of the historic center. As most buildings in the historic center, this one has no lift and therefore is not suitable for guests with mobility problems.
This eighteenth century building was completely renovated in 2007 and awarded a prize for its historic facade.
THE SURROUNDING NEIGHBORHOOD
The apartment is 2 minutes walking from Bairro Alto and 5 minutes walking from Chiado.
The Bairro Alto is a picturesque old quarter and well known for its nightlife and unavoidable trendy and vintage shops.
Chiado is one of the most emblematic and traditional neighborhoods of Lisbon.
In this area you can find almost everything, any time of the day: be it a lazy brunch, great cheep restaurants, fado houses, grocery stores, supermarkets, art galleries, bookstores, theatre, trendy shops and with modern design souvenir shops to bring your friends and family.
Not to miss: the apartment is just 2 minutes walking from the Adamastor terrace, which is a privileged place to see the sunset and the river Tagus.
ACCESS
The apartment location is excellent:
. the famous tram No. 28 is almost at the doorstep; the tram stop is just 3 minutes walk. Tram 28 goes through most of the major tourist sites: Graça, Alfama, Baixa, São Jorge Castle ...,.
. 5 minutes walk from the subway;
. 10/15 minutes walk to the train station bound for the beach / Cascais or Belém;
. 15/20 minute walk to the train station bound for Sintra - this fairy tail village is UNESCO World Heritage Site;
Basically, this is a very central area with easy access to various transportation networks, either walking or by tram. Best of all, in a very quiet street where you can relax to the sound of birds.
And if you are a walker, you can leave home and easily discover Lisbon walking to some of the best tourist spots (Principe Real – 10/15 minutes, Rossio – 10/15 minutes, Baixa Pombalina – 10/15 minutes, Saint Jorge Castle – around 30 minutes, Alfama – around 30 minutes,..). No need to take the Tram nº 28.

ARRIVING VIA AIRPORT
By Taxi – 15 € /20€ max including luggage tax; 15/20 minutes.
Airport Bus – 3,5€ up to 30 minutes – Hop off in Cais Sodré and then 15 minutes up hill.
GETTING THERE BY CAR
In historic areas car access is restricted to residents. However, just down the street, some 120 meters from the building, there is a public parking that charges € 13,05 per day.
CLEANING
Clean towels, linens and sheets are provided on arrival. Additional cleaning can be arranged on request.
BOOKING
Please keep in mind that the bookings are only completed once the reservation has been made. While you're asking questions about the apartment, the house is not yet booked.
Check-in and Check-out are flexible in case there is no other group to leaving or arrive the same day.
For short stays (3 days or less) there is a cleaning fee of € 30.
